I am very satisfied with the quality, taste, and price for the Skylark sliced beef liver 1 lb pkg. I am only disappointed in the packaging that Walmart offers for this Skylark beef liver. All 4 slices come frozen together in the package and you can't just take out 1 from the freezer. You would have to thaw all 4 slices and no one wants to eat 4 slices of liver in one sitting. I used to purchase Skylark sliced beef liver from a different grocery store down South and Skylark sealed each slice individually within the outer package. Maybe Walmart could look into this packaging option.
When defrosted, they are Great. Not much fat/grizzle. Thick enough pieces so it does Not fall apart. I like it med/rare and was able to cook it just the way I like . Each piece it good size. Easy to seperate and the perfect amout for 1 meal . Any way you like it, This is surprisingly good. Worth your buck
I feed this liver to my cats. I cook it in butter and chop it up. It's very tasty and my dog likes a taste now n then. I've made it with onions and bacon for my hubby. It's a good product. Liver is really good for us. It's not my personal favorite so I blend ground beef and ground liver together. Very satisfying.
I am super impressed with this beef liver. It was extremely tender. In the future I won't bother with calves liver since this seems equally tender to me, but with the benefit of not falling apart during handling and cooking like calves liver often does. This stayed in 4 whole pieces with no problem. This is an excellent bargain, and as there is no waste (fat, bones, or gristle), you just get protein, natural iron, and lots of vitamins and minerals.
We love liver and onions in our household and this is a delight and so economical. Liver is so high in protein and doesn't require a bunch of seasoning. They texture and consistency are really on par for well cut liver pieces. We enjoyed this liver tonight with Great value bacon, corn, mashed taters and onions
Yeah its liver, I make stroganoff and between the sour cream sauce and noodles they don't know its liver and have never asked . They just say they love it , I keep making it and mums the word, They live it. I tried once announcing it was liver and onions and they left the table .They made sandwiches instead. The dogs and I ate it. So now its creative ways without announcing the meat and silence. My anemic daughter does not have to take iron pills because we eat liver in its mysterious disguises, (Fajitas,Goulash,Chili,Stroganoff)
I'm quite happy with my purchase of Braunschweiger! Reminds me of the sandwiches my mom made for us with potato salad and a Pepsi Cola as kids. Mom baked our homemade bread. Fond memories of lunches after swimming in our New Haven built in pool she had installed for us in 1963. Lunches with Oscar Mayer memory flogger. Always excellent quality sandwich meats. 👍 The cat always ready to help polish it off lol Multiple products Purchases all highly recommended.
I do not have enough money in my budget anymore for steak, brisket, etc. Beef liver is how I get the protein I need in my diet. Cook slowly in butter, and add brown sugar to the onions. Beef liver has TONS of great nutrients, and the sweet onions help take away the after taste many people mention. Dump Trump so we can afford meat in our budgets again.
I have never given my 3 little dogs beef liver, always chicken liver. I thought I would try this, since it was available. They were not sure what to make of it at first. I am not a liver lover, so I had not idea about the taste difference. After a bit of sniffing and itsy bitsy tastes, they decided they might like it. So far it is being eaten eagerly . They never said if they like it as well as chicken liver . . .
The Liver only had 4 good slices out of 2 packs so I basically had to throw a whole pack of liver out because my finger went straight through the liver it was so mushy and diseased looking. IDK Why you are selling something like that. Liver is very cheap why not buy the good stuff and have quality control. I couldn't even bring myself to give it to my dogs. I will never buy Liver from walmart again I should've filmed it and got a refund. I didn't but I sure talked about it on SM.
