I'm quite happy with my purchase of Braunschweiger! Reminds me of the sandwiches my mom made for us with potato salad and a Pepsi Cola as kids. Mom baked our homemade bread. Fond memories of lunches after swimming in our New Haven built in pool she had installed for us in 1963. Lunches with Oscar Mayer memory flogger. Always excellent quality sandwich meats. 👍 The cat always ready to help polish it off lol Multiple products Purchases all highly recommended.
I am very satisfied with the quality, taste, and price for the Skylark sliced beef liver 1 lb pkg. I am only disappointed in the packaging that Walmart offers for this Skylark beef liver. All 4 slices come frozen together in the package and you can't just take out 1 from the freezer. You would have to thaw all 4 slices and no one wants to eat 4 slices of liver in one sitting. I used to purchase Skylark sliced beef liver from a different grocery store down South and Skylark sealed each slice individually within the outer package. Maybe Walmart could look into this packaging option.
I'm not a huge fan of liver (most people probably aren't) but every once in awhile, I just get a craving for some liver and onions. Skylark Liver doesn't disappoint. It's not stringy or too spongy like some other liver can be. It cooks fast and clean and goes great with baby onions and a bit of rice for a very healthy, very economical meal. I also boil this liver and cut it up into little pieces as treats for my dogs. It's healthy for them as well and they love it.
When defrosted, they are Great. Not much fat/grizzle. Thick enough pieces so it does Not fall apart. I like it med/rare and was able to cook it just the way I like . Each piece it good size. Easy to seperate and the perfect amout for 1 meal . Any way you like it, This is surprisingly good. Worth your buck
I make my pet dog's food due to poor digestion and weight challenge. I cook this liver slowly until all pink is gone, about 10 minutes. My best friend loves this beef liver, with sweet potatoes, apple, carrots, flax seed and tumeric which i combine in food processor. A little effort for great results.
I LOVE LIVER AND ONIONS, AND I AM STARTING A NEW DIET SO THE PROTIEN AND LOW FAT WILL HELP . THIS WAS A GREAT PRODUCT TO START WITH. GOOD QUALITY AND TASTE. I LOVE THE VACUUM PACKING WILL HELP TO KEEP FRESH AND LONG TERM FREEZER LIFE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
Excellent product but it used to come individually sealed in the package, which made it excellent for a single elderly person to handle usage. Now, the latest order of this is just all dumped together in the package. This forces me to defrost all the pieces at the same time. Very inconvenient! Hope Walmart is able to get the better packaging again, certainly worth a slight extra cost if that is the situation.
I wish this product came individually wrapped. I have Parkinsons Disease and arthritis which makes it hard to open the package. It also needs to be almost completely thawed in order to get one slice. One big mess often resulting in uneven portions because the meat falls apart as it's being handled. Liver is one of only four foods my dog will eat so I buy this often as it's all you offer. I wish you offered Skylark brand. I used to get that at other stores but I can no longer drive to any stores that offer that brand.
Grind this up and add it to my dog's food for added minerals and vitamins from a natural source. Good that it is frozen to prevent issues with parasites. And, more affordable than commercial supplements designed for dogs - without any artificial components.
Ive bought this a couple of times hoping it would be better each time. It has a "vein" (?), making every slice tough to chew. im very dissapointed. im hoping, if I pay a bit more for calf liver, it will be better. 🙄😕😔
