Skyline Chili Original Chili 15 oz Can

Really good stuff! I moved from Louisville, where I would go the mid-city mall Skylinie restaurant. There's nothing in Maryland that I know of. But wow! Walmart carries the cans. And, it's the same tasty, seemingly watery chili we all love from Louisville. You need to get your own cheese, grate your own onions, cook your own spaghetti (I recommend %238) and find some chili beans you like to have it as many ways as you like. Be creative. My grandsons loved it. They want more. I just bought 12 more cans.

I'm originally from Cincinnati and to me this is mandatory to keep in the pantry. If you're not from Cincinnati, you may not get it. This product is a Greek chili that is served over spaghetti or hot dogs with a large mound of finely shredded cheddar cheese.

Love me some Skyline chili. Lived in the Cincinnati area for 50 years, eating Skyline from a restaurant at least once a week. Then we moved to Virginia. No Skyline available here. The can isn't as good as restaurant, but still love it just the same.

A friend turned me on to it years ago. Many that try it don't care for it, and I believe you must serve it like at the restaurant did, on top of spaghetti and cheddar and an open mind is helpful when trying new stuff. Not the chilly many expect with beans or spicy- more like sauce. You can add a bit of beef to thicken it.

I only received two cans of skyline chili and there were 3 ordered.

I was a bit skeptical when it came flowing out of the can very fluidly…so if you're wanting a thicker chili this is not for you unless you want to add a thickening agent. Next, it has a lot of cumin and something else that puts it more on the sweeter side kind of giving it a more Caribbean/Jerk kind of flavor to me. So luckily I had some Rally's frozen sweet potato fries and shredded some Tillamook white extra sharp cheese, and a bit of sour cream and it was perfect. I would not use it on hot dogs or regular french fries, but it may be someone else's taste. I'm on the fence if I'd purchase it again. Sorry, I didn't think to get a pic of the first bowl I made 😅.

I'm sure the chili will be good, but the cans arrived super dented. Very disappointed in that. Not sure if it was before or during shipping, as they appeared to be packaged well. But if before, I can't believe someone would deem those acceptable to ship out.

We have been buying skyline chili for a couple years now. We have never been disappointed until lately when their entire formula HAS CHANGED. It used to be like ordinary chili but now it is a soupy, oily MESS that you pay $5 FOR ONE CAN?!? We will never buy this again. The first pic is the product we recently bought and the 2nd pic is the old formula where it is all one color and not watered down!

I'm from Texas and this isn't what we consider chili. It has 3 spices listed that aren't normally added to southwest chili. They are cinnamon, allspice and cloves. I relate those spices to autumn and Thanksgiving, never chili. I doctored this thin and runny stuff with everything I had to try to fix it. Nothing lessened that crazy spice combination they put in there. If others like it, I'm happy for them. But this Texan grew up with plenty of Latin influence and this chili isn't it.

Decided I wanted to give this a try after seeing it on a YouTube video. Wanted to give Cincinnati a fair shake. I have come to the conclusion they don't know what chili is. literally every other chili I have ever had was better. Cinnamon does not belong in chili. Maybe fresh from a Skyline restaurant would be better but we don't have one in Texas. I suspect that is because Texans know chili and this wouldn't be around very long.
