It works fine. When selecting this probe, I turned down one with a metal casing and went with all clear so that if I were working in a tight spot, it would be easier to see the light. I also picked this one above many others because it has the longest cord, and I can reach hard to reach spots. It has a 6 feet plus cord. you could clamp it onto the battery and use it under the dash if need be. I always have trouble finding a good ground location that the cord can reach to. I also chose the incandescent bulb probe over an LED probe because HEI voltage will burn out a diode. You should be able to check for spark with this one. It has a nice sharp point. A nice additional feature is that it has a rubber cap that goes over the point for storage.
I was using a slippery meter to look for voltage on a lawn tractor. This made it easy. The spring cord is great.
exactly the tool I needed. gonna trace out the voltage short this weekend. looks well made so hopefully it will last a long time.
