I am very pleased with the table. It was very easy to assemble and is sturdy. I know I got my moneys worth and it just what I wanted.
Just what we wanted. Easy to put together and looks great.
I had two other tables I purchased two years ago from another manufacturer. At that time I only needed the two tables but I recently moved and required a sofa table. I checked the price where I purchased the other tables and they wanted $200+ and this one was almost half that price and the table was just as nice, actually nicer. I would recommend this table to others.
the table was a great buy. i received a lot of complements on it. make sure to clean off all the surfaces before assembly because the iron legs are extremely dirty when you remove them from the plastic wrapping. assembly was straight forward, although some parts took a bit of work to make them fit into the proper places (ie. the cut on the legs and supports were not exact)
The Slate Table was just as described. It was packaged fairly well. The slate top was in good condition and fairly flat. The metal pieces fit well, and were in good condition. It took two people to assemlbe, since it is heavy, but it wasn't very difficult. Looks very nice in a casual living area.
So, the first mistake was accepting it from the pick up counter. The box was all taped and in poor condition. Once I got it home and opened the package, the slate top was busted up. I'm single so the thought of repacking it and taking it back was too overwhealming. I went ahead and finished putting it together. It looks nice, but is not worth the money that I paid for it. If it was around 100 dollars then it would be good value for the money. Now having said all of that, it is beautiful. I placed a plant over the broken slate so it isn't visible to on lookers.
This table is even more attractive in person than the picture online; BUT -- AND THIS IS A BIG BUT -- because the top of the table is made of stone, it's really easy for it to break during shipping. That's what happened with the table I received. Since it's supposed to have a rugged look to it, and because I'm thoroughly lazy about returning anything, I'm going to keep it. But I'm not happy that it arrived damaged. I'll cover the crack with strategically placed items. It's a sturdy table and I like it, so it's a shame that I received it damaged. Assembly: I'm glad there weren't a lot of pieces because the instructions were a joke. Fortunately, you'll be able to assemble it easily -- just remember to unscrew the four bolts on the underside of the table and then screw them back on once you have the frame in place. That direction is not given in the instructions. One of the eight screws was missing washer, but I think that seven screws will hold it together well. Also, the whole table was covered in orange dust, so have a damp cloth on hand to wipe down the legs and top. In summary, I like the table a lot -- it's ideal for someone who isn't too lazy (like me) to return it in in the event that the stones break during shipping.
While the shipping was terrific, the actual piece, well, not so much. We bought this to place in a narrow entry corridor by the front door of our condo. The design is great but the quality and workmanship is not. The tube steel legs were scratched and poorly touched up, two legs were missing the rubber feet that were on the other two legs, and the slate was coated with a glossy finish that makes it look artificial even though the slate is real. Always remember, you get what you pay for. We are using the table because the area it is in is on the dark side and it is difficult to see the many imperfections in the tubular steel legs and frame.
Unfortunately I ordered this table 3 times only to find that each time the tiles were so badly uneven that I couldn't put anything on it. It was heavy, and for the price could be a nice piece of furniture. I would recommend that you order more than one through site to store and have them open them up at the store before taking home (because it was difficult to get it back in the box and then back to the store the first time). It sounds like a lot of the reviews got lucky with the tables they ordered, and I wish I had, but after three attempts, I just couldn't keep doing it.
This is a great looking table. Unfortunately, I still have not been able to put it together. The holes do not line up with the screws and it is all solid metal so there is no way to move things to fit. So far, I can't find anyone who is able to get it put together. Short of welding it, I don't think I will be using this table.
