Very unbscure horror title for PS5, at a get price.
My son loves it says it's great graphics and it's a challenge which he enjoys
Was a little rough at first but got really good. And creepy 😳
Really fun game, but not for everyone. If you like older style horror games this may be for you.
The gameplay was a bit clunky and different than other action rpgs, but once you get used to it the combat is a lot of fun. It was a cool experience getting to hop around into multiple bodies, while attacking the enemy from every direction. The story was also pretty entertaining and intriguing. Trying to piece together the main character's past while trying to stop the Slitterhead's. The main trio of Night Owl, Juliie, and Alex bounced off of each other pretty well and had their own story arcs, however, the other characters sadly aren't given as much focus. My main grievance would be the ending. It feels like the story wasn't over yet and that there should have been more. It just ends so abruptly. If you can look past an incomplete ending, then you could have a really fun time.
Slitterhead is a very creative take on the action horror genre from the original creator of Siren, Silent Hill, and Gravity Rush, Keiichiro Toyama. It's the first game from an independent studio, so you can tell where some corners needed to be cut budget-wise, but I don't think it detracts from the overall gameplay and story. The gameplay is very unique, there's a great art direction, and the soundtrack, by Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill fame, might be some of his best work yet. The physical game came with a soundtrack CD, stickers, and an artbook which was a nice bonus without needing to pay extra for a "deluxe edition".
Janky, unique, feels like ps2 era . Plays great. Cult classic vibes.
Slitterhead is the latest game from legendary game creator Keiichiro Toyama, famous for directing the very first Silent Hill game way back on the PlayStation 1, and later went to create the spiritual successor series Siren for the PS2 and the PS3, as well as the Gravity Rush franchise that appeared on both the PlayStation Vita and the PS4. The game throws you into the role of a mystery spirit referred to as a "Hiyoki", given the nickname "Night Owl". By possessing people in a massive Chinese town during the 1990s, you form connections with "Rarities", people who when possessed are able to display powers such as creating weapons with their blood. Teaming up with the rarities, you fight the monstrous Slitterheads, strange parasitic entities that take over the head of their human hosts and seek new victims in the crowded, rundown streets of the city. The game plays like a third-person action title, but nothing as frenetic as the Devil May Cry franchise or punishingly hard like the Soulsborne genre. With careful timing, you can parry enemy attacks and even gain a bullet time of sorts to beat down enemies. However, input timing can be a little touchy, not always responding when it should. Additionally, the game does have spikes in difficulty that can be annoying, but are more than forgiving as it does not affect your ability to level up, nor is there any scoring system for your skills in combat. The story is also told in an unconventional manner, bouncing between several days and even including more complex elements that I will not spoil here. For anybody familiar with Toyama's past works, this may not come as anything new. But to more casual gamers expecting a clear cut narrative, this may not be for you.
I really like this game, but this is not a game for everyone. The style of the game helps to salvage its somewhat awkward and clunky combat mechanics. Even though I really like the game, I would recommend you wait for a sale. But if you do pick it up, you will have a game like no other.
did not get it ship it got lost
