It's funny that upon closed examination, all three sizes have the exact same specs! The size dimensions are the same. The weights are the same. The decibels are the same, and it just has to make you wonder? So, I bought a watt meter and guess what I found? My 12,000 BTU, which is supposed to draw about 1190 watts, is only registering about 5,700 watts. This would be what the wattage is for the 8,000 BTU unit! 8,000 BTU is supposed to be about 760 watts, the 10,000 BTU is supposed to be about 950 watts and the 12,000 is supposed to be 1190 watts! I guess that I should notify the FTC and just may? I will try and get the difference between the cost of the 8,000 BTU unit and the 12,000 unit. If you do buy, I would strongly recommend just buying the 8,000 BTU unit, because that is all you are going to get anyway! And yes, when measuring the watts, the air conditioner was on high, fan was on high and the Eco mode was off! This reading was accurate!
