The unit seems durable and well made. It's rubber grip makes it comfortable to hold. It seems to work as described. Getting started takes a little reading and experimenting. The included manual could be better. It is a little difficult to understand. I had to tinker with the device as I read to make sense out of some things. The device didn't seem to be picking up electrical fields at first. I read the manual and found that you can reset the magnetic and electrical field readers. I did that and everything seemed to work fine after that. I was able to take temperature, electrical and magnetic readings after resetting. Before resetting I was only able to ger magnetic and temperature readings. It was a little awkward to get use to some of the controls. Once you get it set up it seems more user friendly. Keep in mind that this is my first experience with an EMF meter. If you have previous experience it may be easier for you. I really think the way to get started is to first read and reread the manual. Reset the device before using. It seems after you do the reset it is pretty much just turn it on and get your readings. I have no way to tell the accuracy of the readings. The temperature seemed to be pretty close to being correct. I like the feel and size of the unit. It is small, yet not too tiny. My only con is that it takes a little time and reading to get familiar with the controls. Once you familiarize yourself and get comfortable using the meter I think you will enjoy it. I give it 5 stars based on quality, design and doing everything it claims. I would recommend it to anyone needing an EMF meter.
I ordered this EMF detector for a new property that has a lot of electrical issues, and just to play around with on the ghost hunting thing. I don't have another tester to compare the readings to as far as accuracy, but it did have some readings around electrical appliances so I assume that it does work However, unless you are indoors, you cannot see the screen at all. The two pictures are standing under a carport, so there is no direct sunlight and are sitting on the seat of a covered side-by-side. When I would lady meet her down flat I could see the screen somewhat, but as soon as I picked it up, the screen was not visible at all. I tried changing to another set of new batteries, but that was not the problem and the battery meter said full anyway. I could hear it beeping when it would detect something, but it's useless if you cannot see the screen to see what the levels are. When I walked outside into direct lot, I could not see the screen at all there either no matter what angle I had it at. If there is a back light setting, I don't see it, so overall, I could not recommend this product unless it will be used strictly indoors with low light.
