I bought these along with tiles four months ago and they have been perfect so far. No visible peeling.
I used smart tiles and finished with smart tiles brillo finishing edges where the tiles met the bottom of the cupboards. Made for a very nice professional looking job. I have had lots of compliments on them already. Very happy with smart tiles products
I purchased these strips to finish off the edges of my Milano Todi job. Customer service recommended this color and it was great! My strips are adhering well to the plain wall, the tiles and also to each other in a place where I decided to just let them overlap. The tiles looked fine before the strips but now it looks more complete. And again, easy installation. If you make a mistake, just take it off and do over. But, be careful to secure the tile part while doing so or you will end up removing the strip AND the tile. In addition, I got creative! Our newly painted ancient radiators were taking a beating from the metal part of my husband's office chair. I used two strips sort of as a bumper and it's preventing the radiator from chipping as well as protecting the chair. The strips are almost the same color as the radiator, so I'm not sure if you can see them, but problem solved.
I renovated my powder room a number of years ago and purchased SmartTiles and Smart Edge Brillo for the backsplash area behind the vanity. These tiles and edging were easy to install and years later they look great. Some visitors to my home have assumed that the tiles were ceramic until they touched them. I would buy these again.
I used this to edge my Smart Tiles top and bottom as i used them to create a border around my bathroom. Easy to cut and stick My tip for creating a nice 45 degree angle would be to stick the edging to your cutting mat with masking tape and cut through the tape and edge at the same time.
The area to be covered is basically ‘L' shaped except for the small return at the side of the stove at the right corner wall. I started at the left corner and worked out. I found it difficult to cut around the corners of the window because the area was not square Or, it may have been the build up of the 1/16th” or 1/32” off at overlapping at the grout lines at the edges and its magnetic stickiness where they meet may not have been square. If I used real tile, I would have used spacers. The 1” tile pattern is forgiving because I could cut out the squares and ‘retile' to match the mistakes. I had to make sure the edges did not curl up by using clear sealant. For the backsplash piece at the side of the stove, I overlapped the edging strips by making straight 90 deg cuts and overlapping the corner, then cutting the top edging strip at 45 deg and trimming off the side. I did so because since the strips are stretchy, they may pull apart at the corner. When I opened the box and looked at the tiles, I thought that I should have gone for real tile, but when I was about about 3/4 done, some friends and family came over, and made some very good comments about it and therefore boosted my confidence. I wanted to bring some colour accents to the kitchen. Now that it is complete, it looks great!
These tiles and the Ambra Smart Edge were just the things we had been looking for. The quality is fantastic and the prices are very great. We re-tiled a dark area in the kitchen of our RV and the results are amazing. We have shared your website with others on three RV forums because others have been looking for a way to make their RV kitchens look more like home and this does exactly that. Easy to install and lightweight.
I chose the dark grey as it seemed to be the right choice to go with the white tile. I installed the edging before installing the last row of tile, using a pencil line to ensure straightness. It is important to make extremely precise measurements so the last tile fits snugly against the edging. If you try to hurry these last steps, you will end up with a sloppy looking job. One thing I noticed with these strips is that the adhesive needs to have pressure applied after placing to ensure good adhesion. This was never a problem with the tile.
After having put the Smart Tiles into our kitchen as a back splash over the kitchen cupboards, we had a short area the was not finished. I ordered the trim and put it on right away. It finished off the open edge of the tile wonderfully. It looks great and my wife is extremely happy with it. The only comment against the edge is that the ends of the strips are a bit rounded, so if you want to butt one against the other (such as at a corner) you have to manually trim it to be square. That is a minor item but one to be aware of. We are very happy with the Smart Tiles, the application and the ease of making things look really good.
Keep it moving this is definitely not worth the price! I'm returning them! I would think for over $21 per pack they would be very nice unfortunately that's not the case. And they came in a bag envelope bent! So after a couple of days they still won't straighten out even if I could find use for them! I would highly suggest going to your local store and find something for finishing or look elsewhere.
