SmartCode 270 Tradition Touchpad w/SmartKey Security

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This automatic keycode lock was easy to install on my front door. Took me about 30 minutes total. Programming your personal code was very easy. The matching door handle is sold separately. So please make sure you purchase that along with the locking mechanism. I also have this same lock at our secondary home and the batteries last usually about 18 months.

Install is pretty straightforward with a simple screwdriver as long as you don't need to drill the hole for a deadbolt. Make sure you have 4 AA batteries when you are installing as they are not included. Programming codes is pretty straightforward and you can program more codes than you'll every need including 1 time use codes. Battery life is pretty decent as well depending on usage. Overall a solid product if you don't need or want smartphone access.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After hearing so much about keyless entry options of this new high tech era and after hours of research on finding the best one that's right for us as a family, I decided to go with a brand that has been tried and true for many years, Kwikset. The new Kwikset Smartcode 270 Keyless Electronic Deadbolt was especially appealing to us in many ways, from the beautiful higher end style of the deadbolt, to the option to use a key or no key, to the auto locking feature just in case any one of us forgets to lock the door, and finally to the ability to add and memorize many user codes, which makes it easier for family members to remember. Installation was easier than I thought, especially for a first timer like myself and battery life is great and easy to replace using AA batteries. The motorized deadbolt lock slides fast and quietly with the press of a button and operation is as smooth as can be. I appreciate the backlight when pressing in the passcode at night as it makes getting in the door even easier for everyone. Even more appreciated, is the SmartKey feature in which we can easily use our current compatible key to rekey the lock ourselves without having to take it to a locksmith. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about the Kwikset Smartcode 270! Will be getting another for the backdoor to match!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not my first Kwikset smart lock. Kwikset really builds the best smart lock and for not an exorbitant amount. I like that the dead bolt is tapered so that when it locks it sucks the door tighter to the weather stripping. Programming and setup is very simple and the touchpad seems responsive. Rekeying is also super easy, but keep in mind that it will not work with all other lock cylinder types (so just do Kwikset all everywhere for easiest rekeying)

From the moment you unbox it, you will be impressed. The Satin Nickel finish on the Traditional Style is very high-quality and has a nice weight to it. This lock's features are extremely innovative. The auto-locking feature with a custom time delay is my personal favorite. I no longer have to think twice about closing my doors before going to bed. I also appreciate not having to worry about battery life. The lock has a 12-month battery life and an alarm and visual flash when the batteries run low power What's not to love about this lock? You can set up your favorite features right from your phone, and you can even use the app with step-by-step installation instructions and a walk-through guide. This lock has been a great addition to my home's security and my peace of mind.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic lock. Smooth and doesn't require Wi-Fi. So easy to rekey and install. Doesn't require any technical knowledge and goes in place of existing deadbolt. I put grease on my fingers and still couldn't see the fingerprints.

I really like being able to unlock the door without a key. This also makes it easy for my kids to come in when I'm not home and they forget their keys. I'm very happy with this lock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I installed the Kwikset Smartcode 270 traditional deadbolt in Satin nickel a few weeks ago. The lock took me around 40 mins to install. There is an app (Bilt) to assist you with the install. The lock looks great and is so easy to use. You can set up multiple codes so that each person has there own code, but the best thing is that you can have code lengths anywhere from 4 to 8 numbers long ( if you are like me all of them are 8 digits). You can also set up to 10 one time codes for guests. The lock is able to be set to auto lock at different time lengths for piece of mind about locking up you home. The system also locks with a single button. In case you lose your key you can personally rekey your lock so no more need for a locksmith. I will be getting another one for the back door!

It works great and my kids love to push in the code! I love the peace of mind it gives of not worrying about kids looking a key! Perfect!

I bought this in July of 2023. I just stopped working. Called support and they tried a remedy to fix and nothing happened. Sais there was only a year warranty. Worked great until it didn't. If it's supposed to last longer than 3 years I can't give a good review. If it's supposed to last less than 3 years, it did its job
