Full disclosure, I'm using this in windows in an attempt to keep the high temperatures out of the house and hopefully help the AC work a little better. I have 2 Alaskan Malamutes that I'm trying to keep cool as well. This seems slightly better than the aluminum foil I had temporarily taped over the windows due to the insulation it contains. However, I have some concerns regarding the quality - especially considering it's not cheap. I just finished placing it over the second window in the room and there appears to be a manufacturing defect in a section of the insulation that I probably never would have noticed had I not been placing it in a window and the light filtering through made it obvious. (see included image) Not sure yet how much the defect may or may not affect the the heat barrier ability of the product. I can say that just touching that section with my hand that it feels slightly warm to the touch, where as the rest of the insulation feels cool to the touch.
