SmartyKat Super Scratcher Chaise, Catnip-Infused Corrugate Cat Scratcher & Lounge

I find the long flat scratchers a tad awkward. Throw one on the floor, lean it against something? This version, however, is a game changer. It meets both of his favorite passions (resting %26 scratching), and for a feline who's bored by everything I buy him, I was so glad this was a hit. It does get torn up, eventually, but not for months %26 is easily %26 inexpensively replaced. Yay Walmart!!!

I will admit, I did not think any of our 3 kittens were going to take to this, but I realized they were just unsure of it for a few weeks. Once one of them started sleeping in it, the other 2 wanted to be in it, too. I even woke up one night to find all 3 of them (these are 4-5 month-old kittens) curled up in it together! It was adorable! So to give them all a little more room, I purchased 2 more of these, and I couldn't be more pleased. They don't always sleep in them at the same time, but they all get used. One of the kittens will sleep in it for hours at a time. Sure, they are just made of cardboard, but they are very sturdy and there really isn't much cardboard at all that comes off of it. I would definitely recommend this to any cat owner out there. I am including a few photos of the "Kittens of Chaos", AKA "The Chaotic Three" - Bob (orange tiger - male), Goose (orange/white - male) and Charlie (white/dark spots - female). The third bed had not yet been bought when these were taken, but they now have 3 of them side-by-side.

My 3 cats love these. This is at least the 10th one I've purchased. It's funny because they don't look like they would be that comfortable, but the cats use them equally as scratchiers and loungers.. My cats will pass up the soft comfy bed for this cardboard bed!. They are also very durable and just a great overall design.

I bought this on Oct 8, 2025 and am writing this review Nov 3, 2025. I believe I paid around $14 for this product. My cats enjoy it as both a scratcher and a sleeping spot, which was the hope when purchasing. It's held up pretty well so far and is a great addition to their belongings. I am going to buy a taller scratcher/tree next because my kitties are still stretch-scratching at the wooden frame on my bathroom door; this product just doesn't meet that need. However, I have noticed they are scratching at my carpet less since buying this corrugated cardboard scratcher!

2 of my 3 loafy cats love this scratcher! It's the perfect size, for both my largest %26 fluffiest loaf, and my long, skinny loaf. My smallest and not-yet fully grown kitty won't sleep or loaf on it yet like the others, but he enjoys scratching it. I'll be purchasing another!

More sturdy than the other ones that I've ordered and it came quickly my cat likes it and it's more durable than the other pressed cardboard. This one will last longer and it is perfect

I really like this, but my cat loves it even more. It doubles as a bed and a scratcher perfectly. My cat never scratched anything else in the house after I bought this. It feels like the smell it activates makes them want to nap and when they wake up, they fix their claws in it. Construction is amazing solid. after some use, it will flake a bit. but that is expected. I bought one to try, but shortly after, bought another one so I leave one in my office where the cat relax while I work , and another in the living room! the slanted sides are genius as they support the cat very comfortably.

I was worried about how this would stand up to two very active scratchers, but even after my tiny T-rex terror of a tabby girl, Aurora, gets done venting her inexhaustible energy, the cardboard looks like it's been barely touched! I've had this scratcher for a couple of months now and it's only just now showing spots of use, that's how heavy-duty the cardboard is. Both of my kids love rubbing up against it, playing in and around it, as well as sleeping in it. Even better, my giganticat, Mercury (the size of a tiger cub at 30 lbs, whose tail alone is 18 inches long) actually fits! Yet because of the cradle - or chaise, as SmartyKat says - design, the scratcher isn't bulky or something that takes up a massive amount of floor space. Trust me, I live in a shoebox - space is at a premium, yet this chaise fits in just fine. The only problem I had was getting my cats to use it initially. Despite being infused with catnip, my two weren't touching it - the scent apparently wasn't strong enough. All it took was a sprinkle of extra catnip to get the ball rolling. All I can hope is that when this finally wears out in about a decade, SmartyKat is still making this so I can buy another one!

My cats absolutely adore this. Be warned that little pieces of cardboard may stick to their fur. You might find bits of cardboard in various places on the floor or elsewhere. Can be long lasting if your cat doesn't scratch it up. Otherwise, it's not going to last.

Of all the cat scratchers I've tried over the years, my cats love these above all the others. They scratch 'em, sleep on 'em, throw up on 'em, loaf on 'em. They love being on these things. They're the only ones I buy anymore.
