Smith's Edge Eater Stone Knife Sharpener

I'm a older woman and I love working in the yard. I wanted to sharpen the hoe, shovel,etc thinking they would did into the soil easier. I did buy a few different sharpeners but but none worked for me, probably my fault. I happen to see of all things a few cabin building videos on YouTube and this is what was used to sharpen their tools. I ordered one from Walmart and it didn't take to long to get it and I immediately used it on my little garden hoe. I did as I saw them do on the cabin shows and it worked!!

I have used files for axes %26 machetes with fair results. This Smith EdgeEater works phenomenally. Get a good edge in very short time without 'filing away' metal as a file does. Handle allows good control of the circular filing motion. Amazed I had never heard or seen this Smith product as I have a number of other Smith products.

this was a great purchase — they should mention it can be used for kitchen knives and scissors and stuff too - just get a diamond file , so you can file them down after —- heavier than i expected — used for 2 pairs of loppers already and plan to do the lawnmower blade before the spring —- would recommend this to friends

This sharpening stone has a little weight to it and feels very solid. I used it to sharpen my lawn mower blades and immediately noticed the difference in cutting the grass. It has a nice hand grip while using it, expect it to last a long time.

This tool is amazing! So great while I was trying out on a hatchet, I cut myself.

I prefer to sharpen by hand. This works for a small hatchet.
