Gift
I didn't use it but my son said it's more like shredded than chips of wood so he's not sure how it will hold up for smoking. He hasn't tried it as of yet.

NOT 2 pound bag of "chips"
This product does NOT weigh 2 pounds, as advertised. It weighs 28 oz, including the packaging. Also, not "chips". The wood is shreds, like hamster bedding.

Shavings, Not "Chips"
Ordered two bags on line when I saw the sale price. After waiting two weeks, having to print out the paperwork at home, find a WalMart Associate to help me, stand around a bit, I was handed two bags of FINE SHAVINGS -- no chips whatsoever. It looks like material you would use in a hamster cage. So, I had to go to Customer Srv , stand in line, get the sour attitude, to get the refund on my credit card. I would say the shavings would be worth $1 to just try it, but can't believe those fine particles could have any lasting power on heat or be able to produce ample smoke for flavoring. Buyer Beware.
