Some of these bad reviews for Smucker's Magic Shell Chocolate Fudge Topping are honestly absurd. People are complaining that the bottle arrived hardened or that the oil separated — as if that means the product is defective. It says right on the back: if the topping becomes thick or separates, just run the bottle under hot water for a couple of minutes and shake it well. That’s all you have to do. This is a normal part of how the product works. You didn’t receive a bad product — you just didn’t follow basic instructions. Leaving a bad review because you didn’t read the label doesn’t make the product bad. It just makes the review useless. Used correctly, this topping is fantastic. It pours smoothly and hardens like magic on ice cream. Don’t blame the product when the real issue is not knowing how to read the directions.
Love this Smucker’s Magic Shell Chocolate Fudge Topping. Normally chocolate ice cream is my favorite. But with this great topping I prefer it on vanilla ice cream. For those of you who may have never tried this, I highly recommend that you do so. And since you have brought it to mind, I think I will go treat myself to a big bowl right now.
it says on the top DO NOT REFRIGERATE but every time I get it it's cold and solid. it is NOT to go in the refrigerator but no one pays attention to that! this is the second time I have mentioned this.
Topping tastes great, and we love how it melts in our mouths! Easy to use, just shake and coat. It is perfect for a special dessert like ice cream sundays for parties.
Make your own hard coating on chocolate at home - no going to DQ or other places. Great taste, keep on shelf, use with all kinds of frozen treats and sorbets. If you put it on orange sherbet, it tastes like one of those dark chocolate oranges!
Delicious stuff: pretty much the dip they use at Dairy Queen that hardens on contact with anything cold. It can be difficult to get out; sometimes running it under hot water (or letting the bottle sit in hot water) helps, but once it comes out, boy, it hardens into a delicious chocolatey shell. Not cheap, and not at all good for you, but a fun and delicious treat.
This is so much fun to use on your ice cream. You just pour it over the top and let it harden and it's nice and crunchy and yummy. You can also put it over fruit like strawberries or bananas. It isn't real waxy like they used to be. This brand is very good.
My family loves Smucker's Magic Shell Chocolate Fudge Topping. I have nostalgic memories of it from when I was young, so my parents %26 I had it on hand often when my son was young too. Kids think it's cool as it hardens %26 mom's like that they can have a treat with the fancy hard shell topping at home for less money. You can even add extra toppings to mimic more expensive treats - small pieces of peanuts, almonds, cookies, etc. I add them on the ice cream before I put on the Magic Shell as it hardens quite quickly. There's other flavors of Magic Shell, but the fudge is our favorite. I definitely recommend trying Smucker's Magic Shell Topping - just make sure you follow the directions %26 shake it well before using. It's got to be stored in a room temperature environment - the cold hardens it (which makes it difficult to buy in Minnesota in winter).
Delicious on frozen banana slices, ice cream, anything frozen or very cold that might benefit from a little sweet chocolatey flavor. No preparation, just shake and dispense on the treat, slip it back in the freezer to ensure a good solid coat on the treat with a little crunch.
If only the Walmart shopper would not put the Magic Shell ice cream topper in the same bag as the ice cream. Now it's solid frozen, and when you defrost it or run it under hot water, it turns into an oil and doesn't have the same effect. I would bypass this if you're buying ice cream.
