[This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
So far, only used it on a deck with five inches of heavy snow. Went thru that snow with no problem. Maybe took me ten minutes or less. To shovel would have been a half hour or more and maybe getting a sore back. Storm coming in two days with 8 to 12 inches. I will see how that works out. It looks like a very well made machine.
Cautious about getting electric, but I cannot handle the weight of gas because of health. Has turned out to be a good investment. Light weight but powerful. We have had 2 storms so far one 6 inches and one about a foot. It handled both. The foot one I had to take in smaller amounts but it handled it.
I am single 69 years old lady. Shoveling snow on my 4-5 cars driveway was becoming a real chore. This snow thrower was shipped to me in 2 days just on time to try in December 2017 after few heavy snow falls. I could not be more happier. I was able to do everything without much effort. I did not any help to assemble the handle. The machine is very light yet sturdy. I have been using electric lawn mower for some time, so to handle 100 ft cord is no problem for me. Throwing snow take some time with the machine though. Do not expect to have it done very quickly, but there is no lifting at all and that is what really matters to me. I can handle machine easily one handed while moving cord if needed without turning it off. My neighbors are impressed how powerful this small thing is. Right now is snowing again so i am looking forward to use it again tomorrow. Would recommend it to my friends.
Salut à vous. Le rapport Qual/Prix est excellent. Les performances sont au delà de ce que je croyais. La machine fonctionne très bien, ici au Québec, dans 12cm de neige glacée et les congères laissés par les charrues à neige. I, purposely, wrote to you in french to demonstrate the universality of the Snow-Joe product i am using
For a small snow blower, it sure throws the snow far away. In the last two recent snow storms, it cut my shoveling down in half and saved my back. Even with two feet of snow, with a little help from the shovel, it sure goes through the snow like butter. Not recommended for heavy snow blowed from the street, but overall extremely happy.
I bought this snow thrower to help clear my deck after I pull the snow off my metal topped gazebo. When the snow is drier it works great. If the snow is wet and packy I have to take smaller "bites" otherwise the chute plugs; a gentle bounce will clear it. Where the snow has been pulled off the gazebo, if it is packy, it needs to be broken up with a shovel. This snow thrower does a good job (saving my back) of clearing the back deck. I live in a snow belt where we get a lot of snow. The one "complaint" I have is the crank for the chute is low down and several times as I step forward I have hit my shin on it.
This product functions great if the snow throw chute in directly forward how ever if the chute points left or right for displacement, I find the distance is somewhat reduced to maybe half the distance, not sure why this would be the case, neverthe less the product is so far functioning well.
Just the right size and power is close to what the wider snowblowers have at 15 amps. This means that it is more effective with deep snow or snow with crusted ice than a 20 or 21 inch unit like my neighbours'. They have a teeny bit more power but the wider blades mean they bog down more easily in the tough stuff. The small clip that's meant to restrain the extension cord is not large enough to hold a 12 gauge cord but it works fine with 14 or 16 gauge cords.
Seems to blow snow well. The major issue I have with this snow blower is the tire size. They seem to be too small so it's very easy to get caught if you are on uneven cement. I am going to ask a neighbor if other sized tires are an option on this snow blower.
