Absolutely beautiful blanket. Size fits bed nicely. This softness of the blanket comfy to sleep with. Very light weight, yet keeps us nice and comfortable.
Not the Vellux blanket I remeber of my childhood, but still a great blanket. Bought the beige color and it works with my neutral bedcovers. Warm but not heavy. Used during the Florida A/C summer. I will buy more for the other beds in the house. Easy to wash and I line dry. Great blanket for the money.
I was so happy to find the original Vellux blanket at Walmart.com. I have been looking in stores for a long time and I could not find one anywhere! These are the best cuddly blankets---everyone in my family loves them! I wash ours with liquid fabric softener and it makes them so soft. This blanket has a hem sewn around all the sides and it seems very durable. One of our old ones only had a hem at the top and bottom and the sides got a little ragged. I can tell this one is going to last a long time!
Just as expected! I Love these Vellux blankets, I was just replacing an 8 year old one that was pretty well worn out. This is the same quality as always. They are a great light summer blanket and the cat hair is easy to remove from it. My only complaint is that these blankets tend to migrate to the foot of the bed so quickly and you have to keep pulling it back up. It has something to do with the lay of the fabric ( mole skin). I couldn't get the color I wanted because all the colors are always different prices. Not sure why? 🤷🏻♂️ The blue I wanted was like $20.00 more than the grey I purchased. Why? In summary I love these blankets for summer they are a good value and last well and if you wash it often it gets softer.
Very soft - very good quality. The blue color has more green in it than appears in the picture. and is much lighter. But I washed them when I received them and they are beautiful. I got a king and a queen. I am using them for covers for my white slipcovered couches and they are beautiful on it.
I've had several Vellux blankets, the one I'm replacing is over 10 years old, it does have a small hole in it, if it weren't for my redesign I would still use it. I purchased a King in Beige, washed as instructed before it went on bed. I noticed there were at least a dozen tiny holes in the fabric after I washed this. I was soooo disappointed. I am going to hope that this is a one off and return this blanket and reorder another. I will update afterwards to see if all worked out or is the quality not the same as it was years ago.
I originally chose this blanket because it looked light-weight, but would be provide warmth on cold nights. When I opened the plastic bad it was packaged in, I almost gagged. I had to take it outside to air out. The blanket had to be washed 9-10 times before the smell came out. I am terribly disappointed. It's a nice blanket otherwise. It's held up through all the washings...including the smell. We've had the blanket almost a month now and between leaving it outside for a few days and all the washings, the smell has significantly gone away although not entirely. I looked at the MFR's tag and see that it's made in China. I'm not sure if the smell is from the manufacturing process or from some sort of preservative to ship it to the USA. All the same, the chemical(s) involved can't be good. Will never purchase another blanket like this again.
I had a vellum blanket in the past. It was soft and warm! This one came and was literally stuck together, felt hard and not even like fabric! So of course I washed it to see if that helped and no it didn't! Please save your money, go to TJMaxx or something!
When they say lightweight, they aren't kidding, the blanket is very thin. This is not an "All-Season" blanket, it is only appropriate for warm weather. It looks okay and feels okay, would be fine for a light summer throw.
The blanket smelled really bad when I opened it, the fabric is really rough to the touch not soft at all. I'm not sure exactly what this is supposed to be but it's awful
