SOG Hidaka FX Fixed Blade Knife 4.8" Tanto Point CPM-3V Satin Blade Micarta Handle OD Green

I have many knives in my collection, but this one quickly became a favorite. I absolutely love the blade geometry and the blade steel it is made of. Cryo 3V is considered a 'high-end' steel ad it looks and feels like it is a well-made knife. The Micarta handle feels good in the hand and the shape of the handle helps make the knife fit my hand perfectly.

Bought this during the SOG holiday sale, so price was reasonable. It's a lovely knife. Sturdy, thick, sharp. Good belly to it. If I had to rush out the door to face the apocalypse or go on a week-long canoeing trip, this is the knife I'd grab. Could skin and dress an animal in the field because of the belly—not just a straight blade, which is nice. Probably good for self defense too, but hoping to never need it for that. Sheath is a bit challenging to figure out. Attached to my belt the handle of the knife protrudes into my ribs. Probably meant to be attached to the strap of a backpack or in some other way I haven't figured out. Sheath attachment can be unscrewed from sheath and rotated 90 degrees to attach in a different position. Very nice knife.
