My first one was inherited from my father. I'd never heard of DOG by my brother was a lifer in the Army and couches for it. I used it roughly for years as I trained horses, rode the back trails of the Sierras, and ran a mobile RV repair business. It pulled rocks from horse hooves, repaired saddle rigging, fixed innumerable odds and ends, and then went to work with me fixing RVs until I left it in a customer's RV one late night. I was devastated when I realized what had happened, but I immediately ordered a replacement and had my name and number engraved. A few weeks later my customers who had been visiting from the other side of the country, mailed my dad's back to me. So then I had two. But as a final statement on how useful and nearly indestructible I have found these to be: my home burned to the ground just before Christmas. I lost everything. I have now ordered and received my 3rd Powerlock. I've never needed to order one due to a problem with the tool; I always need to order one when I don't have the tool. The thing is brilliant, handles abuse well, fits in the hand well, is adaptable, can be maintained and modified readily... It's just a great device.
Excellent tool. Well made. Seems like it will last. I use a multi tool most every day for one thing or another. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the belt clip on the pouch. It popped off my belt several times in the first few days. I'd feel way more secure if it was a loop and not a clip. I took a very small self tapping screw and screwed the bottom of the clip solid. Now I can slide my belt thru and it stays.
I have been using this roll and this tool only for about 15 years now. Never get aught without it and everyone that uses it is inpressed!
One of the best multitools I own! Keep up the great work!
I bought it almost a year ago and it has already proven itself a worthy purchase many times over. Tenacious saw blade, sturdy screwdriver capable of handling a surprising amount of torque, wonderful scissors, and a sharp knife. All around marvelous tool.
This is my second SOG. I lost the first and this is a much improved product. If you buy one, be careful of the knife--it is sharper than a razor.
This is my second SOG as my first one was stolen. I love it so much. It is easy to use, all the parts move smoothly and the tools are of excellent quality for a multi-tool. I have a Leatherman as well, but it doesn't hold a candle to this.
I have used other multi tools in the past but when I got my first Sog, it was like a night and day difference. I work in construction and I must use the tool at least 10 to 15 times a day I can't go without it!!!
These are excellent multipliers. I had a SOG designed electricians multitool with punch down, fish, and other specialty tool. Unfortunately, the clips that lock the accessories out/in use were cast zinc and eventually fell off and were lost. This is the replacement, with steel clips, fortunately. The compound leverage plyers are the best in the market, I only wish the cutters had replaceable inserts. Best feature, bar none, the hinge pins that secure both the plyers and tools are metric button head barrel screws. If you're careful, you can adjust the effort required to open the tools and the pliers. This feature is lacking in most multiplier competitors. I don't like having to use two hands to open and close the tools every time.
This is a wonderful tool. It took a few days before I could get to use it. I discovered a fence problem in my pasture. The "Power lock..." was the only tool that I happened to be carrying. I fixed the fence and used a few tools found on this knife. It's a great tool. My 79 yr.old fingers had some difficulty accessing tools and it is the heaviest multi tool I have ever carried. I wouldn't want to part with it. My fingers will learn what to do and I will continue to "pump iron," to adapt to the weight. I highly recommend this multi tool.
