Best quality protein bread out there. Prior to this being released our household always bought Sola low-carb bread. This bread is thick, the texture is great and the flavor is decent. Walmart is the only retailer nearby who sells it and because of that, we shop at Walmart more frequently.
This bread is soo good, I definitely recommend it.
Most protein breads are either really dense or something is just off about them. Sola does a great job of creating a bread that is both low in calorie, and protein forward. Toasting it gives it a nice crunch. Two slices with an extra lean burger patty is a cutting hack.
Literally the best bread you can buy on the market right now. 10 grams of protein per slice? That's fantastic! I'm about to be on my third loaf. Side note, pair this with the "Good Good Peanut butter" and the "Good Good Jam" and you got yourself a high protein PB%26J.
I was expecting this bread to come with negatives. It always seems that special features, such as high protein ,come with tradeoffs. This bread doesn't seem to have any, except for its high price. I can live with that tradeoff for the improvement in protein content and generally solid nutritional content. This has definitely become my new go to bread.
I love the high protein it has and doesn't have any sugar. It also has 6g of fiber and is Keto friendly.
I thought the texture was wonderful. The flavor however, had an aftertaste to me. I cut off the crust and it took away a lot of that and I enjoyed the loaf, but I didn't like the strange taste with the crust at all. I have come to realize it was the Stevia. I didn't see that was an ingredient and I have a tendency to be really sensitive it. But that's exactly what I was tasting so if that doesn't bother you, I think the bread was a lovely texture and nutritionally it had a lot going for it. My body liked it. My taste buds didnt. Lol
I've been a big fan of the low carb Sola breads - buttery and sweet oat. They have too many chemicals and modified food ingredients but as someone who is low carb, it has worked for me for when I want a sandwich. So I wanted to try the protein one, even tho it's not as low carb but has the extra protein. First, it is so much thicker than the others and toasts up so well. And it tastes so good! However, every time I would eat it, my stomach would get upset. And progressively worse each time. I try to eat pretty clean with most other things so I can only surmise the extra chemicals and modified food ingredients in the protein one are causing the issues as I've changed nothing else. It also makes me hesitant now to eat the other Sola breads as maybe there is damage going on my body just hasn't reacted to as badly yet. The protein Sola DOES taste good but the ingredients are very concerning and if you are at all concerned about gut health or already have issues, you may want to think twice about eating it.
This is my first time buying protein white bread and this isn't for me and my family. I have no doubt that the ingredients are good, it just has a weird smell and the texture reminds me more of cake. I would say to give it a try because you may like it. I believe it's a healthy bread.
My family can be very selective about the bread, so I had my doubts when they didn't care for this bread but I was wrong. It's gummy and has an odd taste.
