Used all summer without issue. A note: the side of the house needs to be straight. We had to raise it up as the roof line interfered with it "saddling" over the window sill.
We had new windows installed and our old air conditioner did not fit .It keeps our kitchen, dining area and living room in our raised ranch very comfortable. It is also so quiet I sometimes go up to see if it is on. On the expensive side but seems to be well worth it.
Excellent product. The dog and I really like how we still have a window we can open on cooler days for fresh air and of course significantly more sunlight than the traditional style air conditioners. This unit is extremely quiet, I don't have to turn the tv up to watch it. The only downsides for me were the fact it is rather heavy to get up the stairs to my apartment. I also found it a bit awkward to get out of the carton. It was very well protected with Styrofoam and straps to keep everything together. We had to cut the box in order to access the A/C and remove from box. Installation wad very easy, but unless you are very strong it will take two of you.
The AC is pretty nice. Installation was a bit awkward for one person to do, but I managed with out crashing my fingers. Looks nice inside and outside the house. Comes with pretty much everything you need. It is really quiet and managed to cool an attic room fairly well. My only complaint and the thing that will prevent me from buying more of these is the water issue. Even with the stopper installed it leaks. It hasn't turned off yet and has managed to keep working in 90 degree weather but the humidity is fairly low. I feel like I need to put a bucket under it to feel comfortable letting it run and I don't like that. Besides that, it's neat, I had it at work in the box until I was ready to install and people kept asking me about it, so there's certanly interest in the design but the water management inside the unit is disappointing and makes it hard to recommend.
As advertised, this product -- which we've been using for a little more than five weeks now -- is quiet, efficient, and much more attractive than units that block more window space. It is NOT, however, easy to install. In fact, it's a giant pain. Weight is part of the problem. It's extra heavy. But the uneven distribution of the weight over extended area, plus the fact that the heaviest section is the one that goes outdoors, makes it extremely difficult to control. While trying to install it in an upstairs window, we had to work frantically to prevent it from crashing to the ground. Also, getting its metal feet over our sill without doing serious damage to the woodwork was really hard. And to prevent those feet, which have to be extended after clearing the sill by slow hand-turning around a threaded bolt, from crushing weatherboard edges on the exterior, we had to rig bumpers with rubber wine corks sliced in half lengthwise. We started the installation process with two of us working indoors and finished up with one of us on a ladder outside. We're already dreading taking it out of the window for the winter. We're thinking about enlisting a third person to help.
I bought this based on reviews. I loved the design, it only sits up on the sill about 3 inches, you don?t lose your view out of the window. Easy to install, very quiet, also very heavy! I just got it today..... it seems to cool very well. I hope that it holds up and lasts years. Five stars ?? if it does! Pricey, however the design is exceptional!
It's expensive, but with only one window in my room, I really wanted what it offered. Heavy but easy to install. Its running like a charm and SO quietly. I'm very excited how quiet it is and how much light I can still have an open window or a window fan on top. (yes it has a fan mode but I like exhaust options). So, for now, good product.
Ordered this online and it came on time with no issues. I have used it for a couple months now and it cools the house well but it does have a loud vibration sound when the compressor works too hard which is very annoying. Recently we have had some hot humid weather here and the unit stopped working and was flashing FL. Apparently there is a drain on the front of the unit that you have to manually drain the water from. Problem is that I have to leave the drain open and put a bucket under it otherwise it shuts off every 20 minutes. I will have to go buy a drain hose and run it outside so I can avoid the bucket. I would not purchase this product again.
I purchased this item on 5/28/2020 and used it on and off through September 2020. I tried to use it again this year (5/23/2021). It worked for a short period of time, then stopped, and flashed the code "FL" which does not appear in the product manual. I have now tried to call the customer service number THREE times and been told I had a wait time of from 5 - 10 minutes each time, I hung up after 45 minutes!! I left one request for a call back. They did not call back. I have breathing issues and really, really need the air on in my bedroom when it gets hot outside. I paid $529.00 for this unit to only have it work for ONE season????? I only have one window in my bedroom, therefore I purchased this unit so I would be able to open my window when the weather is nice. The product seems good UNTIL you need any kind of assistance!! I would not recommend buying this or any of their products.
This unit started out ok but got louder and louder as time went on. We had it for 5 months and used it every night. It developed a foul smell from the water siting inside it. I couldn't stand the smell any longer and pulled it out. The smell is terrible.
