I was advised by the doctor to take this as a means to fight blisters and herpes. I am also sensitive to chocolate and nuts and when I eat my lip-lines become itchy and red. Only 2 weeks of using this MAGICAL supplement not only my blisters and red lip-lines stopped (despite eating both chocolate and nuts), but also my overall skin improved and it always seems I have a make-up on my face when in fact it is just the result of the l-lysine. :) And most importantly, my nose stopped running in the mornings and I have an improved breath now which I never excepted from lysine though I read about it in one of the reviews as well. All small wounds on my hands seem to recover way quickly. This is simply magical! Have to mention also that I have been taking 2 capsules of 1000MG daily with omega and vitamin D in the mornings. I always took omega and vitamin D however except for my hair stopping to fall, nothing more happened. L-lysine seems to do the job. I read in one of the reviews that it is recommended to take monolaurin together with lysine so now I will also order a lyisne-monolaurin capsules to see how it works (though the joint capsules contain only 500 MG of lysine). I just wonder how long I can take lysine not to avoid side effects if any? Will ask in the question section. And as for the packaging, it was perfectly and safely done and great to have a glass jar to keep the supplements.

L-Lysine really helps me with cold sores. I tried one from the Now brand and decided to give a try l-lysine from Solgar as the price for it on iherb is really affordable. I am sure the quality is excellent as of Solgar. Just wish I chose for 250 pills jar as it becomes great value for money.

I have used l-lysine in the past but it was less millegrams. I bought this because it is 1000 mg. I like this product and will continue to use it. I have had the shingles and I read that l-lysine would help with the herpes virus that causes shingles. I don't know if it helps or not, but I'm going to keep taking it - hope it helps me never to get the shingles again!

I think after I took L Lysine, I noticed all my new acne are less inflammed! I can easily cover the acne with foundation and no more cystic acne. I take L lysine, zinc, probitocs, dim & liver detox for my acne. I'm so happy with the result. Please do lots of research about supplements for acne.

Not to mention, Solgar uses high quality ingredients, though the pills size are a little huge, i try to gulp more water while taking them.

Amazing to speed up the healing of cold sores. Though if you can catch the cold sore when you feel the tingle and apply an ice-cube wrapped in a napkin or a plastic bag for as long as you can bear, it's brilliant for stopping the virus mutating. It generally stops one in its tracks if you do this alone. However, if it has already blistered up and formed a scab the L-lysine is great to speed up the healing.
