Solid 300-Thread Count Cotton Percale Deep Pocket Sheet Set by Blue Nile Mills, Full, Gray

I had a really hard time finding percale sheets which are last longer in my opinion and are cooler. I only needed a fitted sheet but had to get a sheet set because that's all that seems to be available. It's for my son's college dorm bed so the selection is further limited by needing a twin XL. This one is nice, soft cotton (although not quite as soft as the Target Threshold sheet on his home bed) and came in gray which was a hard color to find. Elastic is all around which is nice. The size is generous so it would easily fit a thicker mattress than his dorm mattress with a 1.5" memory foam topper and mattress pad.

These sheets were a necessary purchase because my last 500 thread count lifetime warranty sheets had got a hole in them. I got these in the interim. These sheets are 200 thread 100% cotton sheets. I do like these sheets because they have pretty deep pockets and are elasticized all around. So these sheets do well staying put on my 16 inch high mattress adjustable bed. My old sheets constantly popped off. I washed before I placed on my mattress. When I got in bed, I thought they felt a little rough and kind of scratchy. I think it may be because my last set were 2 yrs old and soft and worn in from many washes. I am hoping that after many washes that these will soften. I wash again yesterday and they felt slightly better. I am confident that they will get softer with each wash. Love the shade of blue. Once I get my new replacement sheets from the other company, I will continue to use these sheets in the rotation so both will last me a while.

If you are looking for crisp cotton sheets like grandma used to have, these are the best. I cannot stand slick sheets (microfiber etc...), these are soft but crisp without the slinky feel of some other sheets.

Like another reviewer said it is really difficult to fine percale sheets. I really need percale because I have three cats and their hair latches on to sateen. Plus, I just really like the crispness of percale. These sheets feel good to sleep in and the only downside to them is that they wrinkle SO much! I use three sheets on my bed, a fitted, a flat sheet, my blanket, and then another flat sheet. I do this because the cats would end up ruining a beautiful comforter and this is the way nicer hotels are now making up their beds and it looks nice and neat. So, although I'm not a fan of I am not a fan of the iron or ironing board I'm going to end up pressing these, at least the flat sheet when I plan on using it on top of the blanket.
