It puts out as much heat as a big fire pit. But it's clean not all the smoke. Able to use under a covered area without smoking the whole area out. We have it on the porch of our camp (houseboat) and it's perfect.
We loved our Yukon so we didn't hesitate to get the Ranger. Perfect size for camping. Not bulky and so it's easy to transport especially with the carrying bag it came with. Gives off a lot heat for such a small fire pit. Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have love/hate feelings about campfires. I love the ambiance and warmth of a nice fire. Very calming and soothing, until you buy firewood bundles that are not totally dry and hard to start. With that scenario, inevitably yo get a finicky fire and lots of smoke. I don't know about anyone else, but it seems that no matter where I sit, the smoke always finds me, and burning, itchy eyes are the result. With the Ranger, stand and pellet adapter there are no worries about getting the fire going, or getting smoked out. Just an easy to light fire that is easy to keep burning smokeless fire, that is easy to clean up afterwards, when using hardwood pellets. I couldn't be happier with my totally transportable campfire.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow! I had my doubts, but this stove is amazing. It actually lights up quickly and is super warm, without something to disperse heat. It also holds the heat really well! It was easy to clean. The carrying handle makes life much easier-an off brand is half the cost and works well for transporting the stove. This is an enjoyable firepit. I got it for my sister and she loves it. It even kept my Florida family warm on a cold night in the North East
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great size for our RV and travel! For us: 1/4-1/2 full of pellets is perfect for a fire for 1-2 hours. Fits right into our outside cubby and leaves room to carry lots of wood pellets. Very impressed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Ranger as a gift for my husband and it has exceeded our expectations!! This thing gives off so much heat and has zero smoke smell!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND purchasing one of these!!!!! Can't wait to take it with us on our next camping trip!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Solo Ranger is everything that you could want or need in a portable fire pit! Virtually smokeless when used as instructed and aesthetically pleasing to look at. The accessories offered are awesome and make the Ranger a must have! This makes a great Christmas gift or is a necessity for those that like to spend time outdoors around a fire! Ranger leads the way! My Labs love it also!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] An easy excellent way to start a fire with Solo is to pick up and save sticks and limbs from the winter storms. It is so easy to start a fire, with excellent craftsmanship, your hot dogs will be ready in no time. Don't forget the ring it does protect the deck. Happy New Year with Solo and Friends.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a small camper and this is the best accessory. Ours is a Ranger so sometimes firewood is a bit large for it but we have a small electric chainsaw (pruner) for cutting logs in half and that does the trick? It burns pretty clean and there's not really a lot of ash in the morning if we let it burn out. Also the bag is handy for holding the solo stove with a bunch of firewood inside it which keeps the van clean and tidy.
If only it arrived undamaged , looked like it had been kicked to my door step. The sides, the top all caved in.Was it the shipping company ? I returned the Solo stove today at Walmart. No hassle easy return. I'll be reordering soon as I get refunded, it looked like it was a good stove.
