This deflector was so easy to assemble and attach to our Ranger Solo Stove. We immediately noticed a big difference in the heat dispersal the first night. We can now sit around our stove to fellowship and feel the heat on our legs.
Fnatastic little oven fire pit
Superb quality and look. And it really works well the heat really pans out 2 or 3 feet! Great product! For cold the MESA XL doesn't really spread out heat until you get this!
directed heat outwards really well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High quality materials very sturdy can get hands a bit dirty after a few burns when you take it on and off. Other than that really works with heat disbursement.
My family is very satisfied with the Solo Stove Bonfire Heat Deflector! The deflector does exactly what you would expect. Instead of your Bonfire directing the heat straight up and out of the top. The deflector redirects most of the heat a foot and a half or so around the Bonfire. I have read some negative reviews about the amount of heat that is dispersed around the Bonfire with the deflector. I would just say to keep your expectations realistic. We comfortably seat about four people around our Bonfire. The deflector allows you to stay in your chair and feel warmth from your firepit on your legs without standing and/or having to get closer to the firepit as without the deflector. We've been very happy with the Bonfire in general and if we had more room in our backyard to leave a permanent unit we'd probably buy a larger one. The Bonfire is perfect for us since we can use it, put it in its case and store it away when its not in use. The deflector is the same way and I would suggest buying the case. The only negative thing is the cleanup. The underside of the deflector accumulates a lot of soot but you can just wipe it away with a dry cloth and call it a day. Its unavoidable so this isn't a complaint but I thought its worth mentioning.
I recently purchased the Solo Stove Mesa XL and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This fire pit is beautifully designed, and it performs exceptionally well. The stainless steel construction is seems really durable and the unique airflow system creates a mesmerizing flame that produces minimal smoke. The size is perfect for gathering around with friends and family, and the size is perfect for larger gatherings as well. The included stand makes it easy to set up anywhere. Overall, I highly recommend the Solo Stove Mesa XL for anyone looking for a high-quality, stylish fire pit.
Functional. Leg attachment is kinda wonky. The clip that is used to lock the legs needs slight adjustments to get it to lock in place. Once seated, it seems okay. Definitely not permanent. That may or may not be important. Does not impede burning but does restrict opening for feeding additional logs. Don't expect exact placement. Just have to drop them in
Not one to like hours long fires, the solo mesa xl tabletop stove works great. With the heat deflector, you can corral the flame a little better and keep the heat radiation low. I use it on the ground for a mini campfire using pellets, twigs, and a couple of pieces of fatwood.
Used this for over 30 minutes and it never produced much more heat than without it on the Solo Stove. Not worth the money for what little it provides and also invites burns to any human trying to add wood with it on… more so because it's not the most stable and even bumping it with insulated gloves on knocks it off. Not worth a trip to the ER!
