It was a good movie and based on a true story. Had lots of historical mentions in it. I'm glad I bought it.
The story was powerful, and uplifting. I highly recommend it.
This is a wonderful true story. Inspirational. One brief barrage of bad language which, of course, is totally unnecessary. Otherwise, a G rated family movie.
This is an excellent movie.......a must see. The fact that it's a true story makes it more riveting. The performances of Alan Rickman and Mos Def are truly amazing. The chemistry between these two actors is wonderful to watch as they bring this story alive. I have watched this movie many times and have purchased it for my friends.
I purchased "Something the Lord Made" because I wanted to see it again. It's message is for America 2020. This is the best movie I have ever seen about racism because it reveals the souls of people, white and black, who were in the process of emerging from the culturaly entrenched racism that existed in the 1940ies. Black and white, in this true to life documentary, came together to establish a medical procedure which saved babies who would have otherwise died. The blue babies had a physical heart condition which led to death, the main characters in this documentary had a soul condition that led to the loss of life. Without unnecessary hate and angry condemnations " What the Lord Made" is informative, insightful, revealing, sometimes intense and very suitable for all audiences black and white. (This unrated movie may be a little too intense for young children)
I only like true stories.
Great movie! ‘Timely arrival. Great service.
Really great story. History that should be told in class rooms.
This movie was a took me way back but I enjoyed watching it with my family. It had to be a love for life that kept these two men working together. Something The Lord Made was surely two men with hearts focus on hearts needing life. When we can get pass color to help others thats a wonderful thing.
Definitely deals with the difficulty of dealing with infant heart problems. I had a brother inlaw who had this problem, and the doctor in the movie did his surgery when he was an infant. He lived until he was 45.
