I bought the Sonos Port so that I could stream music from my new turntable to my Sonos sound system, which consists of a Sonos Arc soundbar and two Sonos One speakers. It works like a charm.
I use the Port to play my vinyl throughout the home with my exisitng Sonos speakers. Although it works great, the instructions for set up were non exisitent. Sonos cannot assume that everyone is tech savy and needs to expand on the set up assuming the customer knows nothing about how to connect and set up the port.
Using the Sonos port to replace early Bose system. Retained Bose speakers and SA-3 amps. Plugged Sonos system port on front end allowing me to go wireless but without having to replace the majority of my existing equipment. Worked extremely well, easy set up and easy to use. Plan to add another port for my outside setup which had same previous Bose equipment. Only issue I have is it's a bit pricy...but what isn't these days.
I returned this and purchased the Sonos Amp instead. Was able to get rid of the receiver by using the AMP instead.
It took a bit to setup, but that was as a result of connecting to an older receiver that had to be configured a certain way. If I wasn't somewhat tech savvy, this would have been a real challenge. Once setup and work around employed, it works very well and I love adding my old components into my newer Sonos eco system
I have the turntable, tv and audio equipment inside (using older existing speakers inside still); and outside is another tv with a sonos sound bar and 4 outdoor sonos speaker's on the patio wall. The sonos app lists the outside sound bar and patio speakers. But not the TT. Would make it easier for me if ut WAS listed (like it lists Pandora, Sonos Radio and TV). Also, the TT only works well (with ni sound glitches) when in the room with my router (which in NOT where the rest of my audio equipment is).
Purchased this unit to tie in my analog receiver to the Sonos wireless world. Installation issues followed by poor results pairing with Sonos speakers in other rooms. Could not sort out the volume issues, nor could we get the Spotify to stream the music in the opposite direction. Sonos tech could not offer much in the way of suggestions. In the end it was returned.
Spent several hours on with support during setup. After 3 factory resets, I was finally able to do the firmware upgrade and get the port working. In comparison, I setup a Sonos Amp very quickly prior to the recent new app.
I can't rate the Sonos Port. Only that Walmart sold from a 3rd party who tried to sell a returned item at almost brand new price. I noticed box was already opened and had a return sticker on the box. I returned item on July 8th at Walmart and had to wait until July 18th for my refund. If Walmart wants to allow vendors to sell on their site then they should take responsibility for refunds, etc. Waiting for the vendor to refund my money is unacceptable. Especially waiting 10 days. This item wasn't cheap. Really tired of these major companies (Walmart, Amazon, etc) selling used/returned items as brand new and they're not.
This is the third port that I purchased and the 5th different device that i have from Sonos. I am furious that they released an app that made my once awesome system into something that works when it wants to. It doesn't connect most of the time, if it does, it drops off quickly. The queue feature is now a mess. It's so frustrating!! It's a roll of the dice every time I go to use it. Sonos should be embarassed!
