I bought this about a month ago and it's been great. Amazing richness in the colors, perfect blacks and suites my needs perfectly. I use it for streaming and video games. I know it doesn't have HDMI 2.1 which kinda sucks, but only like 15 games utilize 4k 120fps on next gen, and none that I play so I'm okay with 4k 60fps or 1440k 120fps when I play multiplayer shooters. The panel is so slim, my phone is thicker, and looks great in any setting. Now if only I could find a PS5! Hit me up Sony!
I recently discovered OLED and I'm so glad I did. The picture this set can generate is leaps and bounds better than anything else I've ever seen coming from a television set. Great contrast, nearly true to life color and picture quality approaching photographic.
This is my second OLED tv. My first being a top LG model, which is superb. The Sony is comparable in every way and actually surpasses it with the operating system and features. The picture quality is also excellent out of the box, and even better with a touch of tweaking. The overall build quality is excellent! Along with picture, very good sound quality for a stand alone tv too. Couldn't be happier with how the tv functions with all the IPTV apps, plus some of my own. Highly recommended! I hope this tv lasts a long time and am sure it will…. Thank you Sony.
When my wonderful plasma TV died last year, I made the mistake of purchasing a crystal TV, which had been marketed as being excellent in terms of color, texture, and overall features. What a mistake! Not only were the colors muted, but the saturation changed dramatically when viewing from different angles. What a come down from my original plasma TV! And sadly, it is no longer possible to purchase a plasma TV. Wisely, about a month ago I did lots of research and settled on this new Sony Bravia TV. To my delight it is actually even better then my old plasma unit. Vivid colors, Great textures, and the image is unchanged when viewed from any angle. I am thrilled!
Because we have to fit our living room televisions in an enclave designed back in the days of projection TVs, we are limited in our choices. Our old Toshiba 46" LCD television began malfunctioning just before the Olympics. It was a swivel TV mounted on a central stand, but almost all flat screens today come with two little legs sticking out on each side which, which makes them stationary. Fortunately, the Sony 48" Bravia OLED A9S series 4K television is mounted on a low central stand. As shown in the photo, it fit perfectly in space available with plenty of clearance on top for ventilation. And by mounting it on a turntable, it can be easily rotated for viewing from the side and easily accessing equipment behind it.
I have no problems with it. Very good color, excellent contrast and nice sound. The design of it is very sleek and minimalistic (beautiful). I'd only say that it is hard to understand what the best settings are, such as with peak luminance vs brightness, or gamma at -2 or 0. I end up reverting to the defaults in many cases, preferring Custom or Game Mode, and just turning brightness down about halfway (in a dark room).
This is a great to to have, got it about 2 months ago. Its been a pleasure toying around with it. Picture is amazing, build quality is great, interface is snappy, and if don't use sound bar or home theater system. TV speakers aren't that bad and sound is good. Google TV is better than I thought. Playing my Xbox on it is great. Very happy with this purchase!!
I purchased this television for our Sunroom to replace a 10 + year old Sony Bravia 42 inch LED 1080p television. My issue had been that with all the sun light from three walls of windows, I had difficultly viewing the screen. The OLED screen has solved that issue. Set up was a breeze (I ignored the Google assistance and used my Fire TV Cube 2.0). The TV and Cube worked together and the settings transferred from the older television to the new one.
I'm happy with this TV. In addition to the picture quality, I like the ability to ask Google to find a channel or tv show for you. These days it's so hard to remember which show was on which streaming service. I do wish I could get the Spectrum channel, but for some reason that's not available. Other than that, very pleased.
The TV has some great features. A personal requirement was a 4K TV in smaller frame and this model delivered it. Larger frame will look odd in my tiny apartment. I wish there be a way to disable the "smartness" in a smart TV. All the controls are very slow. The Menu are slow as well. There seems to be too much reliance on Google environment. Apple airplay is welcome in that though. I notice that some apps like youtube, HBO MAX etc. look a bit differently than how it displays on Apple TV. I prefer Apple TV for this reason. Over all I am please with the hardware. The sound is great. The bezel is short so most of the TV front is mostly screen and that is awesome. The TV is surprisingly heavier than I thought. It makes it a bit difficult for a single person to install and/or move it. Over all I think the "smartness" in the TV and it's google reliance is a big downside. It would be great if it is possible to disable the "smartness" in the smartTV then the menus might become a bit faster.
