My husband did a lot of research and we wanted an affordable TV but after being burnt last time with a Hisense that was terrible, we went for a reputable brand Sony. We are very happy with our purchase, the accessibility to a range of apps is seemless, the colour and sound quality is amazing. No regrets with this purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] purchased over 20 months ago this TV still performs well. Excellent image quality, Calibrated for Netflix and other streaming standards. Easily hooked up to optional sound bars and Sony Bravia Cam for further finessing of viewing.
I've been using this TV for 12 months and couldn't be happier. I can tell the memory is sturdy as it doesn't lag and is very responsive. This is a big improvement to my old Samsung TV that felt like it aged in months. My Bravia is also crispier in colour. Based on many reviews, I anticipate this product to last me for some time. However, I'm uncertain how I would feel about buying this at full price rather than the discounted price I paid.
This is a great TV: great picture, excellent features, very bright, and out performs it's successor. Recommend buying while it is still in stock and at a deeply discounted price.
I bought this product since it seemed to offer the best value at the time for a quality TV. I was concerned about setting it up at home due to its overall size but, after following a YouTube video which showed everything from removing it from the cardboard box onwards, it was really quite simple. It was a pity the included written set up guide wasn't quite as easy to follow. In the couple of weeks of our ownership I have found the experience to be good. One minor criticism is that upon turning on it doesn't go straight to TV but rather to a graphical menu screen which gives options from TV to Apps and Recommendations. I would much prefer it to go straight to TV with a menu button on the remote to access other items. On one occasion we had to re-sign into YouTube as the TV had apparently forgotten our sign in credentials. I will be very disappointed if this happens regularly. Generally thopugh we have been content with the experience.
I bought this a few weeks ago and it's a nice television but it seems to tilt forward from the top on the stand. It's not properly vertical. Also the remote could be more simple and I'd like it if you could change how long it takes for the screen saver to start
Picture is great, remote easy to use; however, can't use Google Chrome as a browser (why when it's a Google tv?) and are forced to use rubbish one. When I switch from SBS on Demand to the tv, the SBS audio continues to come through. You have to turn the tv off to resolve this. My main issue with the tv is not the tv itself; rather it is the poor service of Sony Australia online. Delivery took over a week and the tv box was wet. It took almost 4 weeks to get a replacement. I had to constantly chase them to get action and pointed out many problems with their courier service and warranty procedures. Not good enough Sony.
Since purchasing my Sony Bravia TV I have enjoyed the high quality vision and sounds, but I would like to have had some basic explanations for setting up. I would like to be able to turn on my TV and watch the same channel I was watching when I tuned it off the previous night.
There are some good features about this TV (picture quality is excellent) but the small remote requires multiple buttons to be pushed for the simplest task of selecting a TV channel. The instructions on line are hopeless. They suggest setting up some favourite channels but having done so I (and a lady on the help line) could find no way of selecting and using the favourites. The manuals are full of safety warnings and mounting instructions but completely lacking in helpful instructions of how to use the remote. I would infinitely prefer a remote with numbers on it for channel selection and not buttons for something I am completely uninterested in like Crispy something.
The google TV OS on this is super frustrating, I have to restart the TV every time I turn it on otherwise the apps just hang on opening and I can't use them. If I've been watching netflix or disney or Kayo, turn the tv off and go to watch it again the next morning, nope just freezes when opens. I have to hold the remote off button and do the restart sequence for them to work again, every time I watch something... The display and sound are great, I just can't deal with how bad the google TV OS is on this TV.
