I’ve had my x950 for over a year now, the picture quality is awesome, after you set the pic setting once yhen you’re good for live tv, sports, and videogames. Enough hdmi’s for all your devices plus it’s a smart tv so the tv remote works on all my devices… The only downside is it’s speakers, they suck. So get some external speakers.
The Sony is the first TV I’ve owned where the is no blooming in dark scenes. I used to think the blooming was related to my satellite signal. The colors are amazing, especially in 4K HDR. The sound is so good a sound bar is optional. I love the Google TV interface. It is fast and modern. Worth every penny I paid.
I’ve been enjoying for 2-3 weeks. Amazing quality when viewing UHD movies. Pretty good with HD as well. Smart TV features (streaming) work well. HDMI (ARC) works seamlessly with my Sony 7.1 receiver and Infinity Reference speakers for amazing audio. Still need to hide some cords. Only concern right now is exceeding my monthly bandwidth binge streaming GOT (came with 30 days of HBOMax for free). Needed a neighbor to help hang the TV on wall mount; almost a three person job. Very surprised wall mount screws only tiny M6x10 for a 108lbs TV. Really wanted the M8 screws to work.
I bought the Sony x9550h 2020 version 2 weeks ago. I researched the 65in TVs but I have the 2014 55 in Sony Bravia series 3D version. So I am a Sony guy. I have not been disappointed one bit. My research took me to consumer reports magazine and am convinced that they do a good unbiased job of assessing product. They also love the Sony ahead of Samsung models. The picture is clean clear and sharp. The blacks are really black so the contrast are easy to enjoy. The really surprise is the speakers are really good.
It's been about a month since we get our new Sony. I'm happy to say that I got exactly what I wanted! Beautiful picture, nice sound, and all of the smart TV qualities and abilities I'd hoped for, period. I love it and would buy it again without hesitate. Highly recommended.
This is an excellent choice for mid range 4K non-LED option. Had it for 3 weeks and night time movie watching is enjoyable. It has many features and options. I had Sony remote support help me in configuring the TV HDMI connection with my AVR and they were great. My suggestion would be to wall mount it as the stand is unstable. Overall has been a very good purchase.
I bought this TV a few weeks ago. It has a great picture and setup was very easy. It does have and odd quirk though. Seems a new update was pushed out and as a result, at times the audio from ANY input does not work. Speakers work since I can hear it chime when messing with the menu, but no sound at all from any input or when streaming content. Unplug and let it sit a few minutes...then all seems fine. It has done this twice in two weeks.
This is my second Sony 4K TV and as a display it is excellent. However the HDMI control function is stupid. I interface my TV to my Pioneer Elite receiver via HDMI. My receiver has inputs from an Apple TV, Sony Blu-ray, and the cable box. If I use the Apple TV to turn the TV and receiver via HDMI control, it works perfectly. If I use the TV to shut the receiver off via HDMI control, the receiver turns off and then turns back on. In both cases, the other inputs to the receiver could be on or off, it doesn’t make a difference. Sony’s poor HDMI control and support for other receivers, is barely tolerable. If display tech
At times, the sound will be lost (all channels) which requires a complete reset / hard boot (by holding down the power button) to restore. This also occurs when switching from external to internal speakers. Another issue is when the internet connection is lost. When reconnected, it states it is connected but not to the internet. To resolve, the time parameters have to be reset.
I bought the tv and started having issues with the wi fi reception almost immediatly. I had to exchange it for another of the same model. I had the same problems with the wi fi and some new problems with the set locking up and needing to be restarted to make it work. Then the sound went off! Also requiring a re start to fix. I then returned the set and bought another brand which has been working without any problems.
