This full frame camera really captures a whole range of color and a wide composition. Micro 4/3 are great, but this full-frame creates a whole new ball game. The Sony e-mount allows for third-party lenses if you would like to add them. All in all a great camera.
Excellent camera. Exceeded expectations for quality of images, low light filming, and video quality. My coworker pumped up why this camera was a needed upgrade, and it was ever better than described.
[Employee of walmartcanada] recently purchased this camera from Walmart, and I'm very happy with my decision. The build quality feels solid and reliable, and the camera performs better than I expected for the price. The image quality is sharp, colors look natural, and low-light performance is impressive. The autofocus is fast and accurate, which makes it great for everyday photography and videos. The battery life is also decent—I was able to use it for several hours of shooting without needing a recharge. Overall, this camera offers amazing value. Whether you're a beginner or someone looking for a high-quality, budget-friendly option, I definitely recommend it. Walmart's pickup process was smooth, and delivery was quick.
I bought this camera from a fellow photographer on March 15, 2025, who upgraded to the alpha 7llll. Currently I am using a Canon. I Like how the a7lll handles and all of its features. Which I had switched to the Sony a7 series sooner, will trade in the Canon and purchase another Alpha a7 (Will Upgrade).
The camera is amazing, previous Canon 5d Mark III user and the low light without flash is a game changer for me. Easily use as a go to pro camera. The battery life isn't as long as dslr, but the support for new lenses, less weight, backup card (both SD cards) makes this an excellent choice. The menu system took some time to get down my frequent options. Overall I'm extremely satisfied with this option.
I've always been a photography hobbyist. I have had multiple different compact digital cameras and smart phone devices that have suited my needs, but as I have gotten more and more into photography, I felt like I was ready for something more advanced. Enter the A7 III... After doing some extensive research, I decided that this was the best fit. The Sony A7 III gave me a great entry point on price since it is an older model, but it still has all of the features that I will need for a while. The image quality has been great, the manual settings allow you to learn and experiment, and it has great headroom to let you grow into it for a long time. I have only just started, but I can already say that the Sony A7 III has made the transition very easy.
I was one of the lucky ones to get on the first batch, and man oh man, what a camera, Love it! At first the menu is a nightmare for a guy that shot with Nikon and Canon Cameras for over 27 years. I love everything about it, once I got use to the menu, it's a breeze, I customized to my use and I just love it. The way I customize the FN button, which is one of the things I love the most, I make all the necessary changes I need it while shooting and without taking my eyes from my subject or my EVF. I shoot at hight ISO's, which is a must for me without worrying about, I know my files will be great, I go up to ISO 6400 without excitation and the result is a mind blowing. The only thing I would complain about it, but is easy to fix with a firmware/update is the AF point (the little square), Sony, you Need to Change the Colour of it, it's a nightmare, we can't see this thing depending on the light condition. Please!!! All the rest is a wonder all I hope for and dream of.
First new camera I have ever purchased and very happy with it. I've used this mostly to start doing photography of some of the areas I like to hike and for some future trips I am going on.
I finally purchased a full frame camera, and while I have always been a Nikon user, I wish I made the jump to Sony earlier. The camera feels good in my hands, solidly built and it has been what was missing in my life. Love the dual SD card slots. I easily adjusted to shooting with the monitor instead of the viewfinder, makes a world of difference seeing shooting with the screen.
I wrote a review on May 30th a couple of days after I received the camera; probably my original review has been deleted. The camera had an issue with the shutter button from the beginning and it does not always fire even when it focuses. I even tried different lenses. After all those weeks I am still waiting for a replacement in Ottawa. It is sad that Sony cannot send a replacement to the shop where I got it from. I have been a Sony shooter for years, but now I have strong reservations. I have a European trip approaching next week and have to rely on a half-functioning camera and my old back-up which is a Nex C-3. Needless to say how disappointed I am with Sony.
