Sony Bluetooth Audio System

Just got the Sony MEX-N4100BT installed to replace another older model Sony. It sounds great with a little more power than the last one at 55Wpc. I was already familiar with the controls. The only feature that I had to look up was the power off button is two stage, push once to leave clock displayed, push and hold 2 seconds for all off. I like the two color illumination schemes. It was easy to install myself in about an hour, wouldn't have taken that long but had to cut and solder the wires as the stock connector had been cut. I would recommend using an installation kit such as available here at Walmart.com. It makes installation much easier.

I was really surprised how by this unit. It was a great value. The newer generation N51 is the same except it offers more screen colors and for that minor change, they are selling for $60 more everywhere. This unit has everything imaginable, it links to my Android bluetooth and I can make phone calls, get directions, etc with just voice commands and never have to touch my phone or the Sony unit. It also offers a remote which is great even though there are several Android and Itunes apps that you can use. Its been two days, and I am still finding really cool things I never knew existed. The sound quality is 10 times better than my original Ford factory radio. It was simple to install and at $108 it was a steal.

O bought this 3 months ago does everything I need. Sound quality is great with stock speakers . Would recommend to anyone.

I initially installed this to replace a CDXGT400. That older deck still works fine but lacks some modern features like ipod connectivity, and bluetooth. However, I managed to get ipod/iphone connectivity by removing the cd-changer (CDX757MX ) and swapping in a Sony XA-110ip. Anyway, the new deck works great but I do miss DSO which was present in the GT400 and a 630UI (installed in another vehicle). There are however other spatial adjustments in the MEXN4100BT that compensates for the lack of DSO. It was however very hard to access this via the menu but the Songpal app fixed all that. Songpal (now Sony Music Center) provides a graphical interface for adjustments Overall design is good. The USB orientation is a bit unconventional because this places the port horizontal instead of vertical. BT calling is excellent and in a small car, you would not need the optional microphone (deck has a built in mic). Color choice is limited (red or blue) but this was not an issue for me because I needed red/orange only. My only negative comment about the deck is the absence of an auto-dimmer feature. You can either dim or run it full brightness. The dimmer wire is non-existent on the wiring harness. However, this is not a big issue since the display is bright enough to run in dimmed mode.

Tons of options, and great sound. Wish the lights would alternate between red and blue for music sync. Also the display options could use some more variety and easier movement.

I purchased this radio on July 27th, 2015. All I can say is WOW! After I figured out all my adjustments, I can't get over the improvement in sound I have. I have Sony 6 1/2 inch speakers in the front and Sony 6 x 9 in the rear and this radio really pushes these speakers in a good way. I replaced the factory radio in my car which compared to this is lousy. I have only played one CD so far, but I am hearing things in them that I couldn't hear before replacing the factory radio. I briefly heard some music from the USB after the installation was complete and it to sounded great. I also tried music from my phone via the Bluetooth connection and let me tell you, my speakers were thumping! I also like all the presets built into this radio for different types of music it really takes the guest work out of how to set the EQ to enjoy your music. Truthfully, I am no good at setting an EQ so this makes my life much easier. My wife and I like the call feature in this radio as well. I bought the radio to improve my listening experience, I bought it for my wife also for the built in Bluetooth feature which allows her as well as me hands free phone use. All and all, you cannot go wrong with this radio. CD, USB, Auxiliary, radio, Bluetooth, Songpal, Satellite, all in one radio, what more can you ask for. Try it if you want improved listening for your music you'll like it.

It performs like we wanted it to.

Great sound quality, Good power to push new pioneer door speakers. Bluetooth is excellent. Mega Bass button is handy.

I bought this unit just over a year ago. It suddenly died while I was driving and I couldn't find out why (all of the connections, power, etc. were good). Something internal fried. In addition, this stereo has a poor user interface and is frustrating to use. I do not recommend buying this product.

3 months old and there's no output from the 4 channels. The features are nice and well laid out but all that is useless unless the thing works.
