Why did I wait so long!?

Taylorguy March 22, 2020

I would consider these the best sounding and feature-rich true wireless earphones available. My previous pair were the Jabra Elite Active 65T which I purchased soon after they were released. They were good. They sounded ok and the fit was hit or miss. I never had much success walking with them, as the seal would become less tight after a few minutes and they would occasionally just fall out. Annoying! I really wanted to like the Jabra's and yes I tried all 3 ear tips and even some aftermarket brands. They would be okay for a few days and then more of the same. I researched the B&O Beoplay E8, the Master & Dynamic MW07 plus, the Sennheiser Momentum 2 and the Jabra Elite 75T's. I almost went with the Master & Dynamics because of their ear fins which added stability and a more secure fit. I'm very happy with my WF1000XM3's. Fantastic sound and clarity! The fit is perfect for me. No falling out while walking or even using the rowing machine! They can get extremely loud, if that's your thing. No connectivity issues, customizable controls for EACH earbud. Oh and dual Bluetooth 5.0 earphone connectivity! Excellent earphones!

Best of the best...

Scouse637w727dh January 7, 2020

Researched, compared to others but these are AMAZING FOR QUALITY. It would be impossible for any other headphone to give you better, clearer and more precise sound. They fit great, don't fall out, easy to use and the ability to change Bass etc is awesome. Noise Cancelling=excellent. They cut out 85% of sound with no music. You tap the side and boom, it's unreal. With music, you literally can't hear the outside world. I have used them in the Gym but they don't have IPX rating. If you're looking for solely activity ear phones (gym, running) then maybe look elsewhere. Connectivity is fine. I switch from my Android phone, to Ipad, to iPhone, to Laptop and its fine. Not perfect, but it works. I'd buy another pair if I lost these. Sony 360 is amazing too but the apps(3) are monthly paid subscriptions

Premium sound and design. Excellent companion app

MaxellXLIIS December 11, 2020

I have the WH-1000XM3 which are the best over-ear ANC headphones and bought the WF-1000XM3 for a more portable alternative.

so crisp! definitely the best sounding earbud

scott7658 April 23, 2021

The only complaint I have is they are really big in my ears and don't like to stay no matter what tip I use. regardless best sound I've heard yet. Only thing better is a system in a car.

Almost Perfect

mande1 July 31, 2019

As a daily user of the WH-1000xM3, it was a no brainer for me to purchase these buds to use in situations where over-ear headphones aren't ideal. After using these for some time I can easily say that they offer great sound quality paired with great noise cancelling for buds and the many features we have come to love from the sony headphone connect app. I found these buds very easy to pair using the NFC that is located on the charging case and they continue to pair with my phone quickly and often before I'm even finished adjusting the buds in my ears. While comfort can be a very personal thing and varies for everyone, I find these to sit well in my ears for long periods and have a good seal which is extremely important for the noise cancelling to be effective. Sound is great, though I would have liked to have seen AptX and Sony's own LDAC connectivity like the WH-1000xM3 and many of Sony's other offerings. Going in the headphone connect app we are able to fine tune the EQ settings or choose from different presets. Moving on to the controls. Similar to their over-ear brothers the WF-1000xM3 uses touch controls which are the reason for these not being perfect. They work MOST of the time, but can be slightly oversensitive and just not work at all. There have been two problems I have personally run into thus far. The first being every once in awhile the right earbud will not work. I know the bud is registering my tap since I get a sound queue but nothing happens on my phone (Note 8). My second problem, similarly, happens on the left bud when cycling through the different microphone sound modes. If you tap once sometimes more than one tap will register or a tap will be registered and nothing will happen. This seems more like a software issue than hardware so hopefully, an update will be pushed out for this if it is a widespread issue. NOTE: These issues above can be resolved by placing the buds in the case and taking them back out again. As far as noise cancelation goes I have been pretty impressed with the performance. I wouldn't go as far to say they do a better job than the WH-1000 or even as good of a job but that was not expected. I would say they are a slight step down, which in my opinion is positive and quite impressive for such a small device when compared to a headset known to be one of the best at noise cancellation. Similar the WH-1000 holding your finger on the left bud will pipe in noise from your surroundings and lower the volume of the music. This works well and is a nice feature to have even if you might not use it all that much. Other than that there haven't been any serious issues so far and I thoroughly enjoy using these earbuds. Hopefully in the future Sony can include these few things. AptX/LDAC Bluetooth connectivity, while this is not a dealbreaker it is also nice to have especially when marketed as premium earbuds. A waterproof rating would also be very nice to have so we don't have to worry about getting caught in the rain or sweating while wearing them. Lastly, a wireless charging case. This again is not a dealbreaker for most but would be a welcomed edition. Overall I would recommend these buds and enjoy using them for an assortment of different activities since they are very versatile. While they may not be perfect, it seems that my few issues could be resolved with a software update.

Incredible sound. Best Bluetooth buds I've owned.

Johni2002 August 8, 2020

I've owned these for close to 4 months now. Sound is amazing. Great range and customizable. You don't have to worry about bass. You can dial in as much as you want or back it off. Great 5 band EQ with the Headphones Connect app. I've started to enjoy music again as these bring it back to life. No fatigue with these either. No problem wearing for hours on end. Longest stretch so far for me is roughly 5-6 hours (on one charge!). Case will hold its charge until you drain it. I've only recharged 3 times so far. Pros.... all the above plus great range. I can leave the phone downstairs in the house and stay connected throughout all 2500sq ft plus reaches most all areas of my yard. So well beyond 15 metres Cons... only one. The right bud will occasionally disconnect for several seconds for no reason. Doesn't matter where the phone is. It could be in hand 2 ft away. I've just reset them so will see if that solves it (one of recommended fixes). This is the reason for docking one star. If not resolved they will need to be replaced.

Great sound and a great value

BGDepot January 8, 2021

Great sound and good noise reduction. I have a supplemental oxygen machine that makes a good amount of noise when I use it and with the earphones in I cannot hear it. They come with 7 different size and types of ear pieces that Im trying to find the right ones that fit and provide the best comfort and noise cancelling fitment.

Good headphones, but no Windows 10 connection

Anonymous August 11, 2019

These are very good headphones except for two issues: 1. Bluetooth connection to a Windows 10 device (Surface Pro tablet) is not currently supported. Android connection worked fine. 2. The flashing blue lights on the headphones are not necessary and can be noticeable/annoying for bystanders. I'm not a fan of walking around with my head flashing. Users should have the ability to disable these lights.
