We have had this tv for a month. Every night as we watch our favorite streaming shows both my wife Wanda and I continually comment on the breath taking picture quality.
Great picture quality, brightness, color & contrast are great. Absolutely enjoy watching shows on this TV. Also love the Android OS. Easy to download streaming apps. Don't need 3rd party streaming device
I've had this tv one month and I'm amazed with the picture quality! I also like many features of the android interface such as how my OTA antenna channels are easy to access. I could install all of my apps except Apple TV+ and I hear this will be available later this year with an update. Even though the picture is outstanding, I plan to have it calibrated next spring. I'm still getting used to the remote not being back lite but overall I love this tv! I have a Denon AVR with surround speakers and the tv remote works great with them.
After watching this tv for a few months, it was time to make adjustments. When making the picture adjustments, this tv really came alive. Every detail is fantastic, it is hard for some of my friends to believe the picture on an 85 inch tv. Sony makes the best.
I've been enjoying for 2-3 weeks. Amazing quality when viewing UHD movies. Pretty good with HD as well. Smart TV features (streaming) work well. HDMI (ARC) works seamlessly with my Sony 7.1 receiver and Infinity Reference speakers for amazing audio. Still need to hide some cords. Only concern right now is exceeding my monthly bandwidth binge streaming GOT (came with 30 days of HBOMax for free). Needed a neighbor to help hang the TV on wall mount; almost a three person job. Very surprised wall mount screws only tiny M6x10 for a 108lbs TV. Really wanted the M8 screws to work.
Bought the 85” Sony a few weeks ago, and it is perfect. 4K movies are great on it and when the movie is is real wide screen, it is so nice to have a big screen even with the black bars on top and bottom to allow real movie theater like wide screen. Our HD 3D Sharp TV served us well until it died, but really cannot compare to this Sony. Of course, our new Sony is 4K UHD so that is a great difference right there. I was hoping to still get a 3D TV, but it seems that 4K UHD TVs do not have 3D in them. Other than that, it's a Sony. Reliable, great picture and everything works great..
Love the picture, true to life unlike lot of the other led tvs now days. Voice controls are such a time saver. We bought the 49 inch and trust me it's plenty big for our den... love it highly recommend it... speakers sound good right from the Tv. Our room is small so no need for any external speakers... love the stand it comes with. Soccer games look really lifelike, I am loving it.... now the whole family ends up in the den instead of watching their own TVs in their own room! Guys I will be buying more soon to get rid of Ben from my piece of heaven
I received this TV one month ago and am pleased with the purchase.
Disappointing 4K upscaling with 720 and 1080Hd and no 2.1 HDMI only 2.0. TV sound requires a sound bar or av reciever .With original 4k content Netflix, Prime etc. the picture is breathtaking.
...there is a VERY serious and intensely annoying problem. In a nutshell, at least twice a day, when turning on my system via CEC commands over eARC to use the streaming apps in the Sony TV, my AVR registers that it is "seeing" and "hearing" the HDMI communications, but no sound is transmitted between the TV and the AVR (the AVR produces sound from all other sources). The only fix is killing the power to the TV completely, which forces the TV's Android OS to reboot. On top of this, in the last several days, a 3 second lag of no sound at the beginning of each video on any streaming source. The picture is fantastic; couldn't be happier. But the unpredictable audio over eARC is bad. Will have to go back to an external streaming box.
