I bought this about a week ago, works great, looks amazing,no problems with the top being warped like some said.Didnt buy it for the 3D features so don't know how it looks.Only problem is the tv doesn't sit up high enough on the stand so my Sony soundbar blocks the sensor to run the remote.Colors are very bright but not as bright if you sit to the side however still looks good.
I bought this TV after shopping offering the best picture with HDR, connectable with the internet and Amazons “Alexa”, and 4 HDMI ports. The Sony X930D 4K TV has all anyone would ever need. It is absolutely beautiful. The second most important point of this TV was the price it is far more affordable than other name brands offering similar features. The Sony name has a far better reputation than any other and is known for its reliability and performance. I absolutely love this TV!
Can't afford OLED? This is the closest premium 4K set you can get after OLED quality. Picture and color is just outstanding! It's a very vidvid bright set which our family loves. HDR makes this set really stand out. Light bleeding issues are very minimal with the phenomenal and innovative Slim Backlight Drive. The cons are that it is an extremely delicate TV. Our first set was bent and had ghosting issues due to it being bent on the right side of the panel. It was replaced with a perfect no bend- no ghosting 4k TV--the quality that is expected with Sony. Sony took care of the issue, no questions asked and we now have a perfect Sony TV. The X930D is simply an outstanding 5 star Sony product.
Bought it yesterday. Only used Netflix and youtube so far. Manual provide, instruction were not very clear. For a high end TV Sony did a poor quality job on manual. Instruction are not very clear. There is not much detail about remote control functions. You have to learn Remote function as you go.
Great TV. I bought it a year ago and haven't have any problems. The picture is amazing. I gave it 5 stars for every category except for sound quality. I have my TV hooked up to a Denon receiver and that is how I get my sound. But the speakers on the TV are adequate.
My plasma TV was unrepairable I researched quite a bit and bought this TV because I didn't want to spend the money on a OLED or a SONY Z TV. It takes a little playing with and getting used to but it is a good TV so far. I'm happy with the purchase. The remote control is functional meet all the needs but it is not Universal you have to have Sony products to use the sync method and I do not have that so I was a little disappointed on that but it does have an IR blaster that came standard with it that will control at least two of your items if they're close together only two pickups are on it one cable.
The X930D was great for the first 1.5 years. I bought in May 2016. I finally upgraded the Andriod software in October 2017. In December 2017 the TV ceased to "power on". I checked the electrical outlet and AC to VDC adapter and am still unsure what the problem is. I am attempting to contact Sony this week.
The power supply is a pain. It being an external "brick" makes it difficult to hide when mounting on the wall. I didn't know about it until I got it out of the box. I have been having issues with the screen as well. I'm not sure how to describe it the correct terms but I will try. Lets say you divide the screen into 6 even sections. One or more of my sections changes colors while the others are correct. The TV's android operating system is a cool feature but it also keeps lagging on me and crashes at times. The screen is not as vivid as I would expect from Sony. I do not recommend and I question Sony's brand now.
Purchased in Dec of 2016 and shortly after 1 year warranty expired, the TV now has horizontal lines and the picture is distorted. Geek Squad came out but could not guarantee they could fix the TV based on what they diagnosed. Happens every day and makes watching TV irritating.
Picture was outstanding. Remote control buttons don't have the nice feel of their blu-ray players. But it has no power at all now. Working with Sony warranty service, fingers crossed. Very sad to have big black screen staring into living room every day. Seems to be a known problem per Sony forum; don't risk it.
