The picture is stellar and the sound is really good as well. I find the menus and remote to be intuitive and easy to use. I like Sony TV's.
So here it is 2024 and I decided to try this new technology called OLED. I have always been an LG person because of the value proposition, but I figured that the processor and other internals needed to be the best quality. After looking at mini LED and other iterations I said why not spend the extra money. So far no problems after one month of ownership. Use for watching streaming TV and movies, no gaming.
This is an excellent TV. Picture and sound is superb, Replaced my 12 year old Bravia which was still working, My friend has it and loves the old one. I still feel Sony needs to improve there setup menu and make it easier to make adjustments. I tried to set up HDTV antenna for Local channels and cable box at same time but it seems you can only one run one configuration or the other. I have never had a problem with a SONY Tv I have owned.
We love the picture of our new A80L. The remote is not great and the Google TV option is pretty annoying you want to the utilize voice commands. After much research we settled on a Sony OLED to fulfill our primary viewing preferences: movies. If you're a gamer or sports and news person, you might want to consider a Samsung Neo QLED. We watch mostly in Stsndard or Netflix Cdlibrated modes, with minor settings alterations and the picture quality is stellar. Everything you've possibly read about skin tones and fabrics, textures etc is true. Vivid mode is bright but compromises the picture quality. Fool around and tweek the settings, crack up your sound bar, pop some corn and put on favorite high res show or movie, you won't be disappointed!
I brought this TV a few months ago. It works beautifully. I had purchased Sony for many years. I then decided to try a popular different brand. I came back to Sony. After a few years, I was able to pass them all down to family members and they are still functioning well. I love Sony.
The OLED panel is breath taking. The integrated/behind the screen sound is amazing - and it allowed me to get rid of my sound bar. But TV channel TUNING it's VERY SLOW. I move up and down fast to go from 10.1 to 6.1. The TV shows it's wallpaper while it tired to tune in the channel and decrypt the stream. Up pops an error "No signal, it antennae not connected it program but available." And then the channel shows up. It's really about 20 seconds. I replaced an LG from 2016, and it had no issues with channels coming up within a second. Nothing else changed but this TV is a Google Android TV. The remote DOES NOT HAVE NUMBER BUTTONS - just up and down for channel selection. I guess there is a likely App, I'll have to look into. For my PlayStation 5 and now 5 Pro, the eARC HDMI unit immediately talks to the PlayStation and the PlayStation dynamically adjusts the TV for whatever game it's playing. Variable Refresh Rate. Awesome.
Well, we certainly had our work cut out for us when we got this TV set. It's a very nice one the color is beautiful, but it was some programming that we had to do and just getting everything to go the way we wanted. It was no trial and error but we got it. There may be even more stuff this set can do but we haven't discovered it yet.
I bought this about a month ago & must say that I am somewhat disappointed. The overall picture is not much better than less expensive TV brands that I have owned for many years. I am especially having difficulty with the fine tuning of color, brightness & picture size.
I bought this TV several weeks ago and am returning it, since it can not display my photos for more than 10 minutes before it dims them to prevent OLED screen persistence/burn out. The TV also displays random warnings to turn off the TV to prevent Screen damage when I have a photo on display, through an HTML port, or a video from my laptop through an HTML port. The image quality is surpurb, so I am sorry that the TV can not display a photo indefinitely, or at least for 12 hours during the day.
Bought this tv for its picture quality, streaming so no need for a cable box. Salesman said no problem getting Xfinity App. Well at home I find out that Sony doesn't support an Xfinity app. Now I have to rent a box on a streaming tv. I will say no more!!!!!
