While the steak fajitas are fully cooked and can be eaten straight from the bag, I found the water content is really high and you definitely notice the moisture when biting into it cold. On the upside, when you heat it in the oven, it doesn't dry out. I heated 4 oz in a steam oven using the Bake Steam setting at 250°F for 10 minutes, and the result was excellent. It came out hot, juicy, and with a nice fire-grilled flavor. I also like that it does not have a lot of fat.
These beef strips are super! They can be used in so many different ways. I use them with Knorr pasta sides. I also make stroganoff with them. In the summer months, I make salads and use these beef strips making an entire meal in the salad bowl. I highly recommend these for people who don't have the time to cook a complete meal. I have a series of 'quick-meals' and I use them faithfully. In fact, anything by John Soules Foods is delicious! I could go on and on singing their praises! You won't ever regret purchasing anything by John Soules Foods!!!!
I swear, $5.58 is too much for the few strips of meat you get in these bags. And the larger one is almost $10! It's mostly air, but I buy it because it's good, it cooks up quickly, and you can add it to any meal. I usually cut them down to make them last longer.
Very good flavor. I added a 1 red and 1 yellow pepper, as well as about a third of an onion . After adding those items, there was a lot of food. Easily enough for four people. The meat was a little bit fattier than I prefer, however it was very tender. Perhaps the fat is necessary. Overnight it was pretty good. I would buy it again. Everyone said it was great. None went to waste.
The bag says family size, well sure if you're a family of two only or only have a couple of chunks of meat per person only...There were only two semi long pieces of meat, the rest are just some various sized pieces.....I just wanted a quick snack so I didn't make fajita sides. The meat is salty, chewy and definitely needed to floss afterward... There's no char flavor at all, fajitas normally have a char- grilled flavor and no brown on the meat either until I put in the hot skillet for a bit....... I don't think I'll try it again, not worth the $14.95, I think I could've gotten a fajita plate at a restaurant with more meat for the same price plus sides..... here I was trying to save money by not eating out.
I thought purchasing the frozen precut strips would be better... but there were several strips that were hard, couldn't be chewed because it was rubbery, and just the day. This meat cost too much money to have inedible strips. The taste is good. Just disappointed that several strips I couldn't eat, 1 or 2 maybe although it should be none, but this pack had several.
Smells horrible! Doesn’t taste good. Texture is questionable. I added some diced tomatoes with green chilies, shredded cheddar cheese %26 a little sour cream on tortillas I just made. If the tortillas could talk they would scream never put that on us again!!! lol. I wish I could block it so it doesn’t accidentally get ordered again.
By the size of the bag, I figured there were be the same amount of meat as in the chicken, but WOW was I wrong. Okay, so steak costs more. BUT there is only one strip plus another piece that can't even be called 1/2 a strip. these should be sold in a sandwich bag. it's FAR too expensive for what you get, which isn't even enough for a decent sandwich.
please dont order this yes. it was easy to cook it was an OK amount for the money it was slimy when cooked. it didnt have the consistency of meet. almost like tofu or something lab grown just buy the meat yourself and a 99 seasoning pack. i thought this would save me some time. it probability took the same amount of time as the option listed above
I figured I would try doing this and then just add in the peppers and onions to it and my own seasoning, now I haven’t tasted it yet but the bag you can feel it if there’s hardly anything in it. I will never ever ever ever buy this again. Do not waste your money. It doesn’t even feel like there’s enough to feed one person in this bag. It’s pathetic. And I had it delivered so I don’t have a vehicle where I can return it. It’s just ridiculously small. I wish I would’ve read the reviews before buying it.
