South Bend Frog Spear, 5 Tine, SBFS-5

Got this for my Bug out bag and to take camping. Have not used it yet but appears to be well constructed. Will cut a tree limb for the handle when I use it. Should be good for snakes. Very pleased

Great frog gig. The kids and I hunted frogs this past weekend and did well. The prongs are sharp and strong., difficult to bend or break. I really like the size, It's wide enough to help narrow the margin of error.

The frog gig was purchased for the purpose of Pismo Clam hunting. It is excellent.

I have been using these South Bend 5 Tina Frog Spears for 3 years now, buying 2 every year just to replace the tips as they get dull stabbing thru frogs and hitting rocks throughout the season. These frog Spears work great, they come sharp and are extremely durable, I have yet had one break dispite all the abuse they receive. The price is great, and they are perfectly sized to fit onto a standard expandable paint rod. The screw and nut are a little small, so I usually drill the whole out and use a larger size to ensure the gig stays firm. If you like frog gigging, this item is exactly what you need.

The spear is really good for the price. Only issue is the screw. I swapped the screw out for a pointed screw so I can screw it into a branch I find. As a survivalist, this is a must have for fishing.

put some cane toads *(invasive) to bed with this, no prob.

Heavy construction with decent welds. Had to go look for a 7/8" x 6' dowel to mount it and whittle a taper to make it fit snug. H.D. only had 5' long broomstick @ $7.

When I purchased this item I was under the impression that the tines were 7 inches long, which is what the description in the ad at Walmart.com said. Which is what I wanted. The tines are only 3-4 inches long but I figured I?d give it a try anyway instead of sending it back. Would recommend if you want the short tines, but not what I wanted.
