South Shore Axess, Contemporary Desk, Small Desk Black

My wife and I were designing a room to use for homeschooling, and were looking for white desks that we could group together. The flat top and simple design of these desks lended itself to creating a four desk "pod." Also, the storage cabinets will make nice mini-lockers for our students. The price was reasonable, and the color, design, size, and shape were exactly what we were looking for. Also, as someone who moved recently and has been assembling A LOT of this kind of manufactured boxed furniture, I can say that these were packed well and relatively easy to assemble. Would gladly recommend to other.

I am homeschooling my son and needed to find a small desk that would fit in the corner of my dining room. This one fit the spot and color wise matched my table. I honestly wasn't expecting much so I was surprised at how nice it is. I put it together by myself while taking care of two little kids and it was super easy! Would definitely buy again, very happy with my purchase.

The desk is very sturdy and easy to install. We have a computer desk where we placed the desktop, but needed something for the laptop that we could put right next to the computer desk and be of the same height and depth. This desk is perfect for what we needed. The packaging was very well done, tight and nothing moved around inside the box. However, somehow even with the impressive packaging, the top piece came in with a crack. The piece itself was not cracked as I wiggled it around and it did not budge. It was only the black finish. Another issue I came across was that the handle was missing. I called the number on the instructions booklet and SouthShore was more than happy to replace both parts. I only ended up asking for a handle to be sent over as I did not see a huge issue with the black finish crack, and I just went over wit with a black marker that came with the package. The representative still noted this in case I change my mind in the future.

We have a one-bedroom apartment and my husband needed a study area. We thought about a desk in the main living room but it wouldn't really go with my decor and there would be too many distractions for him to study well. I measured out an area in our bedroom and this desk fits perfectly! It is small which we needed but is plenty of work space for him. I assembled it myself while he was at school as a surprise. Sturdy and easy to put together despite the vague instructions (aren't they aways?)

I bought this desk about a month ago and absolutely love it! I ordered it on Thursday and it arrived the following Monday. It was very well packaged with no damage whatsoever. I found it fairly easy to put together. Although the instructions recommend two people, I put it together myself in about 1.5 hours with no problems. Although the pieces were marked, the lettering was very faint and on the very edges of the pieces. So, I went over each letter with a black marker before I started the assembly. I wanted this desk to fit into a small space in my bedroom and it was just the perfect size, very sturdy and looks great!

Got this for my daughters room. As her other one was junk. And this one seems to be of better quality than the last. not sure on life expectancy as this is brand new.

Color matched my furniture. Perfect fit for the tight space I had to work with. Just the right size for a laptop, desk lamp, & mouse pad. Just what I wanted.

I purchased this desk as an adjunct work area in my home office, mainly for doing tax work which tends to be year round. I knew it would be small, but with the printing calculator in one corner and a worklight in the other, there isn't much work space left. I'm already having to plan on something additional to set up next to it during my busiest times. On the plus side, it's a perfect size for an "extra" desk and has ample storage slots, all wide and deep enough for 8 1/2 x 11 documents. As with the other South Shore pieces I purchased in Royal Cherry, the finish is lovely.

It's exactly like the picture. Since it's a do-it-yourselfer, I knew what to expect - pre-fab and easy to put together. Not real good quality, but also to be expected. It will make a nice desk for our 14 year old.

The top piece was cracked and scratched. Half the pieces weren't labeled. "Visual" assembly instructions are beyond insane and none of the screws and little pieces are even labeled. No written instructions. Stay away.
