South Shore Zach Mates Bed with 3 Drawers, Gray Oak

First, it was easy to transport in 1 large box. Second, the packaging and directions were easy. Third, it did not take long to put together. Finally, it looks great and seems to be put together well.

I ordered 2 of these beds with the matching headboards. I read the reviews on several sites about this bed and decided to take a chance. The first bed there were 5 broken pieces! I was so bummed because we could not put the bed together! It is a huge long box and the way it was leaning against my house Im sure thats why the boards broke. I called the manufacturer and ordered replacement pieces but was told that it could take up to 15 business days just to ship them out! I received the replacement parts after 11 business days no issues. The second bed which had one broken piece but was fixable with some wood glue. Now the beds looks really nice when all set up, the headboard completes the look and its the perfect height for my 2 year old to get in and out of, the Gray Oak color looks really nice. It took my husband and I about an 1.5 hours to put both beds and headboards together.

Ordered this in a bundle with the headboard and it never arrived - contacted walmart customer service online and they reshipped it! It finally came very quickly after that! The box is VERY heavy - definitely needed help moving it. Will be using this bed for my 2.5 yr old. The frame isn't very high off the floor which I like, and all edges are rounded so it seems safe. Drawers are a good size. Was easy to put together. Overall good bed for he price!

Shipped in 1 box and the box was damaged upon arrival. It appeared to have been folded in half or had something large thrown on top of it causing the particle board the mattress sits on to snap into 4 pieces. Luckily that was the only board damaged and my husband, being the awesome carpenter he is, was able to reinforce it with better wood. Overall, a nice bed for the price.

This bed is made out of particle board which is very heavy but not structurally sound. Tried to square it up in a corner and the drawers became compromised and wouldn't close properly. Particle board has its place such as a sub floor where it is not subject to movement but not a bed frame. After assembly it is impossible to move because of its weight and probability of shearing the cam locks that are used connect all the pieces.

The bed looks nice and very practical with the drawers BUT very very cheap quality it's a waste of money , I'm sure this is not gonna last long The quality of the material is amazingly cheap!!!!

First, pieces of the bed were found broken when opening the box. After a surprising pleasant call with customer service, I received a credit back. Upon trying to assemble the bed, however I found that South Shore's quality control to be non-existant. Instructions were useless. Holes didn't line up - I had to re-drill several. Wrong sized hardware was included - needed to go to Home Depot to buy correct size. Don't buy this product. I regret not returning it.

The box looks like it was folded and also ripped. Someone actually wrote broken on the box and circled it. Someone else put a red X through it. Opened the box while trying to remain positive and move the instructions and bam, giant split through the boards. Called about a replacement, so we shall see how that one arrives. Will update after.

We did not even get the chance to construct the beds. The box was full of ants!! Originally, we thought they were termites because they had wings. We collected the ants in a bag and threw the beds back into the boxes and brought them to our nearest Walmart. The manager was pretty sure they were not termites, so that at least made us feel a bit better! We got our money back. Walmart is sending a pest control company to our house to make sure they were not termites. I do appreciate the way they handled our complaint.

I recently bought this bed for my son, going to be 2 in May. When it showed up to my house the box was a mess and torn up. Opened the box and everything seemed to be fine, except, the boards that the mattress sits on were broken right down the middle. My boyfriend said he could get boards and we went ahead and set up the bed. We set the bed up the same day it was delivered, which was on February 26th at around 10am. My son slept in it for 2 days, Thursday night and Friday night. Here it is Saturday morning and I went to make his bed and what do I see? The foot board is falling apart at the bottom, the particle board is literally crumbling. The top part by the head board is separating and the same thing, the particle board is just crumbling. So after paying about $165 dollars on what I was hoping would be a great first big boy bed for my little man, gone! Now we have to figure out how to come up with the funds to get him a different bed because this one is complete garbage.
