Metal hoop and looks nice, but a little flimsy
Overall, this is an ok hoop, but I wish the backboard was a little stronger. It works great for a beginner like my daughter who we bought this hoop for, but expect this backboard to break relatively quickly if you have boys or girls who like to dunk. It has a breakaway hoop, but it takes a lot to make it breakaway and the backboard starts to bend. There are others on the market that have a thicker backboard. Our doors are normal height, so we just hung it over the back. Being that this is the XL model, it does not fit on all doors, just a heads up. We could only get it to work on our full size door. The instructions for putting it together were easy enough. It is a good hoop with a metal rim, and it looks nice, just not as sturdy as I want it to be.

My son likes the hoop. However the mini ball is very hard and it's noisy when he plays with it. Would have preferred a softer ball since it's an indoor toy.

Damaged packaging
The product arrived with unacceptable damaged packaging. It was a birthday gift for my grandson and I could not use the box. It was very disappointing.

Damaged in Delivery - "Who knew, who knew"
Product arrived completely smashed. No effort put in to ensure it would not be damaged. Now I get to waste my time having to return it. Hopefully the one I ordered from Amazon will come in better shape.
