Special Kitty Outdoor Formula Dry Cat Food, 44 lb

Started purchasing this item for a little black cat in my yard. Since putting the dry cat food and water outside have been visited by raccoons, skunk and a possum. I like that the food is designed for outdoor cats, addressing their vitamin needs. I am on my second bag and will continue to buy.

I have had a subscription for the Special Kitty Outdoor dry cat food (kibble) for years. I order three or four bags every month, for my “outdoor” animals. The most recent order, which I received on August 30, 2025, came in new bags (most likely full of BFPs) and in a complete new formation (color, shape, and probably taste). Now my outdoor animals won’t eat it! I buy this brand, in the 44lb size, for its value, to feed my outdoor animals. Now what do I do? They won’t eat the new stuff! Why fix something that ain’t broke???

I used to buy this food ALL the time taking care of 30 feral cats and now as of June they have such big pieces my cats can't even eat it! I am so UPSET! The only animal that CAN eat it would be a very large dog!! Why do you sell your cat food with the WORLD'S largest pieces? i have been buying from you guys for years. Now I have to go to Costco!

Our outdoor cats will not eat this cat food any longer. Something changed when the shape of the cat food changed to those little flat morsels. We had fed our cats the previous version of this cat food for years. But now we're going to have to find a new brand. Also, those new slippery bags with the zipper front do not help matters either.

You shrunk and changed the shape of this so badly that I will take my hundreds of dollars I spend every few months straight to a farm store and buy their version. Whoever decided to do this product change should be fired. Change it back. Really bad idea for business.

This was supposed to be the same cat food I previously got for my cats, which they loved ... just in a different bag design. They HATE this food now. They won't eat it. The formula of the actual food changed - its even round pieces and not triangles like before

Recipe has changed. These kibbles are now HUGE. My cats can't even eat them because they are so big! I have never seen such big kibbles in cat food. Such a disappointment to see they changed. Please go back to small kibbles! This food is very important to many people, because it's affordable. Please consider making it a little more edible!

This review is written 9/8/25. I was getting this food on subscription because my outdoor cats loved it. However, the last bag that I received had a different shaped food in it, indicating that they must have changed the formula. My outdoor cats HATE the new food, and I’m stuck with 44lbs of it. It’s so bad, even the raccoons didn’t eat it. 😂 It sat in the bowls for 2 days. Don’t bother getting this IF it’s after the date of this review. Needless to say I cancelled my subscription.

None of my cats liked this food. It was a waste of money. It is boring and basic. It’s all one smell and one color very very dry. I can understand why they didn’t wanna eat it. It was a big waste of my money though I had to mix it in with another bag of cat food that I know they really love just to get them to eat it at all so it wouldn’t go to waste. I do not recommend anyone buy this cat food. You need to add some flavors to it to make it desirable and worth some money.❗️

I bought this for a feral cat colony in my neighborhood. None of the 20 cats will eat it. They dont like it at all. I worried about it attracting raccoons because the food bowls stay full when i fed them this food. Well it did attract the raccoons BUT ... They smelled it %26 raccoons wont eat it either! The birds wont eat it also. So this food is a complete waste of money. Have yet to find an animal that likes it! Do not buy!
