I have an older cat that suffers from feline stomatitis. I treat him monthly, but it's still a little bit difficult for him to eat. All of the patties in this brand are fine, but the salmon seems to be a little softer and he will clean the plate with that and he won't with other others.

The formula completely changed from before. I have fussy babies and everyone really likes the new formulation. It's smoother, kind of like refried beans after they have been heated and mixed with the oil and butter. Some formulations of pate are dry and stiff and most of my babies won't eat it like that. Hats off to the new version.

This food is cat approved. We bought it as a backup for when and if we run out of our regular food. The cats ended up enjoying it and eating this food as well. They especially love the salmon flavor! Overall, we thought it looked and smelled good and that it had wonderful ingredients. We also decided that this food was an excellent source of vitamins/minerals for our cats. So, now we buy it more often because it also has a very affordable price!

The cans that are not silver, are more gold color, with a October or November date, are especially hard to open. Have to be pried open. Pull tab isn't strong enough. Also the salmon is stickier with less of a fish smell. I am feeding 5 neighborhood cats, %26 3 of them will not eat this. They do like the less sticky salmon in the silver cans. To be clear, both are Special Kitty smaller cans, a little over 5 ounces each.. I was surprised by this problem because the cats have loved all your other Special Kitty canned cat food In any size can.

Again, second time ordering this for pickup and 2 out of 12 cans were dented/damged. Not very good condition at all. Not worth the stress. I tried to give you guys a second chance but will not try a third time. I know the cans were damaged by the way the bag was handled in front of me. Sad but these cans are fragile and need to be handled with care. Not a good thing.cannot keep buying damaged cat food cans. If I shop myself I don't damage the cans.

Don't be fooled by the current star rating. They recently changed the can and the recipe for the salmon and probably the others too. My diabetic cat is picky. I had tried every flavor and every brand and he would only always eat the special kitty salmon pate. So that was all I got. my other cats also all ate it. everyone loves it. but this new recipe smells bad. it is a thick paste that stick to the can and lid and spoon. you can't just tap the load out. my diabetic cat won't eat it and neither will 2 other cats and one cat throws up after eating it. so this change is a big flop. the new can comes out of Taiwan. there is no info on the old can about where it comes from.

This used to be my cats favorite and a great value. I bought it consistently for years. The last couple of orders the cans are different (more difficult to open for a disabled person) and they changed the formula somehow. That's the biggest problem, it's like glue now. The strays I feed won't even touch it now and I can barely get it out of the can or off the spoon. It also smells so much worse than it normally did. I don't know what they changed but I'll never buy it again. It went from the cats favorite food to this disgusting gluey slop even starving stray cats won't eat. Such a disappointment, especially since I have so many cans of it that are utterly useless now.
