Speck Balance Folio Case for Apple iPad mini (2019 Model) / Mini 4th Gen - Black

This comes very close to being the perfect case for my iPad mini. After 3 years of constant use, it has got a little "saggy", so I have replaced it with exactly the same model. It has done a great job of protecting the iPad when it travels with me and from inevitable falls, and it props it up in several very useful ways. I have two wishes: (1) that it could also prop the iPad up in vertical orientation, and (2) that Speck made the identical case for my phone! (iPhone SE, if anyone is listening.)

I bought this cover for my iPad mini and love it because you can lock the case on the side. I have always used Speck covers for my iPads. They are my favorite because they are protective and the cover snaps on the side to lock it in. I also love the selection of colors, royal blue cover is my favorite!

This isn't your regular sleep/wake case. It has a bonus. The handy little lock on the side not only works when the case is closed, but the really handy thing about it, and a great idea and design, is that when you're holding your iPad and working on it, the cover opens and you fold it around to the back and instead of the cover sliding around the back, the handy lock also can connect from the rear! This is so the cover is neatly fastened and doesn't get in the way. Great idea. The case IS a sleep/wake too. I bought two of them and they feel like they'll both outlast my iPad. Speck makes my favorite lines of iPhone cases and now I have the Balance FOLIO line of cases for my iPads that are among my favorites too! In addition, the price is right.

I bought this Folio for my new iPad mini because I had used the same product on my old iPad mini that was stolen. That iPad had been in three war zones over and over, and got some rough treatment in certain circumstances. It never let me down, and regardless of the hits it took from climbing in and out of various vehicles and airplanes, the iPad was never damaged. So, there was never a doubt as to what I would put on the new iPad mini. We referred to it as armor.

I love this case! It's exactly what I needed to keep my iPad safe and secure. I love that the case allows me to prop up the iPad and snaps shut securely when I'm done with it. It's not too bulky but it still feels protected. This is the only brand I trust for my phone and tablet.

This is my second speck case for iPad mini 4 and my new iPad 5. It fits snugly and is highly protective. This case has a slighter thinner profile than the one for the iPad 4. It's best feature are little feet that firmly fit into the trudges on the case back. This means it stays firmly in reading position on one's lap while you are sitting. It looks good, and does the job beautifully. I highly recommend this case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Speck - Balance FOLIO for my new iPad Mini and am quite pleased with it. The case offers good protection from any potential drops or falls. I never really worry about it, just toss it in my bag and go about my day. The stand feature is just ok. If I had one gripe, it would be that the indentations where the iPad rests into are a touch shallow and the iPad can 'slip' out of these without much force. Other than that one complaint, it's great! I bought one (balance folio) for my original iPad mini back in 2012. I replaced that one w an exact duplicate a few years later. I use it an average of 4-5 hours a day. The second one deteriorated quickly: fabric just wore thin. This new one is same style and fabric. I certainly hope it doesn't deteriorate as fast as the second one. The case fits tight after being snapped in. Clasp is easy to fasten. Protection great! I clean w alcohol occasionally.

I like the sturdiness of this case. However, I found some of the description of features misleading. I believe it stated that the case could go in a myriad of settings. There is no adjustment possible for the case to go vertical. This is disappointing as my last case did just that.
