Love these My insurance company said I needed hand rails in my porch. I bought them for my steps thinking I would put up railings around my porch. But when they arrived. I liked them so much that I used them as porch railings. Everyone that has seen them loved them. Very good quality.
I checked around locally and other websites and found Walmart had the best price. They came in on time and were fairly easy to put together as for sturdiness. I'm quite satisfied.
Completely satisfied with how they look and work. Assembly was straight forward, most effort was drilling the holes in the steps. Very sturdy, I am 6 ft 275 pounds and these rails handle it fine.
Good and well engineered product. I put one turn heavy duty black strap iron from about 2 feet high from the rail end pipe in cement anchors. The rail is a bit weak at the anchor but holds up well and only moves slightly With my rail being 4 inches from a wall nearby I was able to anchor the end rails about 7 inches up from the underside of the rail where it is set in the cement porch floor ends and totally eliminated the small rail side movement .
I used these for my Dads steps. He needed something to hold on to while he walks down. I needed him to have something to hold on to too! LOL I have installed one of these before but this one was super easy. It came with everything we needed and took about an hour to put up. This was a great buy.
They are easy to assemble and install. I installed them on stairs to garage because of surgery but after healing they are still great to have when carrying things.
Item package received damaged and missing parts. It was taped up but stll missing nuts and bolts for assemly. Called Walmart- I was referred to the 3rd Party vendor Vivohome. They told me they would send the missing hardware but I was told 5-7 business days even after I requested overnight shipping. Not a fan of Walmart after this situation.
The low review is because after we opened up the package and we put one side on the porch we went to put the other rail up and it was missing item A… the pole that was in the box was for a different railing. It wasn’t for this one so then we call and get a run around. They want us to package it back up ship it back which is a pain. We already had the one side up then we were supposed to get a callback we never got a call back.. so I said heck with it and we ended up ordering another one paid another 84 bucks and hopefully in that package there’s an item A so we can finish the porch railing other side and yeah it’s a financial loss for me, but I don’t have to deal with them, but just remember if you buy this and there’s something missing you’re just out of luck. When you look at the picture, you can see that we have the right side railing up, but we cannot put the left side up because of the missing item A
The design of the hand rail installation leaves them wobbly, secure but makes me uneasy. i’m trying to fill gaps with silicone as someone else suggested. The screws given strip easily, i had to take hand rail off to see about stability and the screws stripped adding a lot of angst trying to remove. I’m good at assembling but this was challenging.
concrete mounting impossible even w best tools there’s zero tolerance or “play” in steel flange %26 3/8” anchors . This 30 min task actually 6 hr cruise w poor results.
