after a Samsung washer died after barely three years, I read reviews of washers to choose my next one. Basically every one is crap but Speed Queen. It cost a lot, but it's built like a battleship, has simple controls and it is made in WISCONSIN. I love it.
I will NEVER own another Samsung or LG product again. Pure trash if I'm being honest. I reviewed and researched the speed queen extensively and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. If and when my dryer goes I'll buy the speed queen.
I am soooo happy to see water again! I have went through 3 washers trying to find one that would fill up with water. I don’t care what they say, you can NOT wash a sheet in a thimble full of water. Thank you Speed Queen.
This machine does exactly what you set it to do. You can control the water level. Your clothes get clean. you can set it to just spin. I absolutely love it. The washer I had before I could never get enough water in it or it put way too much water in it. this washer is the best thing I ever bought. No computer control board.
After my 35+ year old Maytag set “died” about 12 years ago, I've been suffering through 2-3 sets of the “new & improved, efficiency” models now out on the market and I have intensely disliked all of them. I prefer top loaders and I still don't understand the logic of washing clothes with so little water they don't even get wet. Had been patiently waiting for my 9 yr old Whirlpool set to expire and that day finally happened recently and we immediately went out and purchased a new Speed Queen, top loader, no-lock lid and I have never been happier with any appliance in my life! The cycles run very quickly, the water fills up and covers the clothes, and I can open the lid any time during the cycle to add something. There are no digital displays- just knobs and less to go wrong. The only downside is it runs louder than other models but I will take that all day long. Speed Queens are a higher price point than most, but it's well worth the additional cost. Every load is a happy experience and I haven't thought that about any previous washing machine- ever! Thank you!
Purchased 3/19/25. Within a few months cycle stalled between wash and rinse.Referred to "User Guide" for cause and remedy to no avail. Managed stalled cycles with dials. Service call 12/17/25- service provider said this is a problem experienced by well owners. Washer filter was cleaned.(This residence is equipped with a full house filter.). Not at time of purchase nor in the User Guide is there a warning that residents with wells may not be well serviced by this machine. Service call 3/9/26. Repeat of the same problem. Replaced entire part housing the 2 filters.Again blame on the well service. To date, 7/15/26, washer is running as it should. There has been no recurrence of stalled cycles. My concern is with possible recurrence of the problem. It would seem that an additional filter at the cold water connection should be included for residents with wells. My grave concern is the failure to disclose a probable problem at the time of purchase.
We bought this TC5 top load washer after having bad experiences with LG and Samsung. and we were hoping this would be the machine that would last more than a few years. Nope. Failed within three months. Randomly turns off mid-load no matter the setting. A repair person is coming under warranty, sure......however, warranty doesn't fixb the time/water/electricity invested in unfinished loads, and now I have to take a day off work to have this new, supposedly durable machine repaired. It's grossly disappointing.
We purchased this washer over a month ago and it still does not work and never has. We have exchanged multiple emails and no one has offered a solution as to repair, refund or a new machine.
Purchased new w & d in April. 1 st one knocked. Replaced with # 2 This washer leaks. SQ rep serviced machine. Only use 1 T soap. No softener. Bubbles come out the back. Water under machine.
The biggest piece of junk I've ever owned. The first one had to be replaced (after a big fight with both Bob Wallace appliance and speed queen) because the inside was separated with sharp metal edges that would snag clothes, and the new one did the same thing so they replaced the drum in it making it an expensive refurbished “new” one, which is also made of inferior metal and not the smoothest inside but so far hasn't ruined any clothes. Seems like corners are being cut to save money on Speed Queens part and i make sure to let everyone I know far and wide what low quality it is just standing on an old name. My parents have the same one I got but it's 7 years old and made so much better than mine.
