Very surprised by this set for the price. Wooden pieces, quality board, nice overall. My only complaint would be that the board folds in half twice down to a square. I prefer boards that only fold in half once to a rectangle. With the double fold, one side is a solid piece of cardboard all the way across, nice and even and flat and the other side is split in the middle making an uneven surface. It makes playing on a couch or a bed tricky. But as long as you don't mind then it's a really good set. Started my daughter off on checkers. It got her mind going on strategy and thinking ahead and planning an attack as well as defense. Then we switched over to chess and she's doing well. This set really helped with that.

i had originally purchased 10 of a different brand chess sets for a local Elementary School so they could start a chess team. They loved the sets. The school had such an amazing amount of children wanting to join i purchased 12 of these sets and donated them. Very good quality. The children love all the sets and are doing amazing accomplishing 1st place during their very 1st competion!!

My five year old great grandson loves the game. We always tie on Tic Tac total, and he's really wanting to learn checkers.Better so he can beat me and now he wants to learn chess

Sent it to my granddaughter. She playes these games on something electronic. I wanted her to feel the objects with her hands.

Something great for grandchildren to do and they loved it.

Great for the cost. inexpensive chess set with big enough pieces, decent board.

perfect for the kids, they enjoy all 3 games, especially learning chess

this is a good starter set if you're okay with the fact that the shapes of the pieces are very simple and are not very detailed, which can make them confusing initially. I like how the board folds up small

I bought this in hopes of it lasting long. I did like that there were 3 games in 1. I was wanting to learn to play chess. However, we went to close it up that night. The board ripped in half. Now, for $12, I guess I can expect it. But for the quality, it definitely isn't worth more than $7.

This is a good chess/checkers board for the price, the board is very flimsy but for a quick game it's not bad.
