This reader works exactly as advertised. It is very accurate and reads as well as well as the digital meter we have in the basement. My husband wanted another reader for our upstairs but nothing battery driven. This was exactly what he wanted and we are more than pleased with its accuracy.
I've tried a few different kinds of humidity meters, and while I didn't need the temperature meter, it's accurate, too. I'm comparing the humidity reading with my dehumidifier and this is the only one that matches it. I'm planning on getting one more to keep at the other end of my home. I hope I didn't just get lucky but I like this product so far. I like that you can hang it on the wall or set it on a desk/table.
The Springfield humidity meter and thermometer have a simple design, does not require batteries, is easy to read and accurately indicates temperature and humidity. Excellent gauge.
This little item was used to compare results with my other meter. Both were nearly the same. Very pleased.
WILL RECOMEN VERY GOOD ITEM AND DO NOT NEED BATTERY
Seem to work fine, good buy.
Works fine. No batteries needed.
I bought the meter to confirm the conditions in my home, before I purchased a humidifier. The meter showed a dry environment where my gas fireplace is located. I have recently bought a humidifier and I can monitor the temperature and humidity in the "dry area." The only issue I have is the stand on the back doesn't extend as far as i think it should. I believe if I extended to the point I would expect it to move it will break. That's a minor issue, hence the 4 stars.
I gave it 4 stars because the style and apperence of the unit reminded me of long ago simpler times. That said, if you want to know the humidity level get a better gauge as this one's off by up to 20 points. Temp reading is good though.
3 degrees low on Temp and 5% high on Humidity (no knob to adjust to correct % as many non-electric hygrometers have) and extremely cheap plastic. It is simply not worth $9or $10, more like $2.50.
