cell service is limited in the areas i use trail cameras. These flex series cameras work well for me. I now own 7 of them and the free plan is definately a positive. Its all big woods in my area so rarely do we get a 100 pictures /month. The flex is easy to set up but remember to use new battery's. The battery life seems to average about 8 months usually. Pictures are decent quality in the standard mode.
I bought this camera about a year ago and it worked great until it just stopped taking pictures. I call your support team and they did everything they could to get the camera to work. They could not resolve the issue so they are sending me a new one. They were very professional and courteous. I am very happy with Spypoint. Thank you for replacing this camera.
Pros: Easy setup, free basic plan, excellent connectivity, petty durable, very configurable, the App Cons: Battery life/cost. I typically use rechargeable batteries for trail cameras, but these cameras demand is too high for them to be effective. I would recommend lithium or Duracell Powerboost. I own a number of these and have experienced a camera failure after about 14 months. Lastly, not super important, but animal recognition is not always reliable, but again not a big thing. I recently purchased 6 more though so it is fair to say I remain confident in the overall value! I own about 200 acres of hunting/farming land
I have 7 spypoint G36 trail cameras. I also have spypoint flex, link micro, LM2, link dark and G36 dark. Out of all my cameras, the G36 is my favorite. It has a much better battery life than the regular flex. It also has much clearer images than the link micro and LM2 cameras. Many of the other models are more needy with firmware updates, but my G36 are not. I'd highly recommend the G36 trail camera and I'm sure I will be buying more G36!
I had different models of SPYPOINT. Had issues with a couple I got a hold of the support and they took care them. Which is one of the great features. I have also purchased the battery packs for all the models which I would recommend. I am very satisfied with SPYPOINT and will continue using them. Looking to upgrade again soon.
Really like these cams but continually get low battery warnings and the next day battery shows 80 or 90 percent which is accurate. All my G36 cams have this issue and I have 7 other different Spypoint models that never have this problem. Have mention this to several reps but they have no answer. Appears to be a fluke with G36's. Would give 5 stars if not for this annoyance.
I bought a twin pack in early August 2025, put in lithium batteries and activated on 8/8. After 20 days one of them shows 63% battery and has stopped communicating, the other keeps sending the same 3 photos even though I deleted them several times. Each camera had been sending 200 photos every day so was a full time job just with notifications and deleting. Most of the pictures and video previews are false triggers. The small percentage of wildlife captured are good quality and the app is easy to use. I have them set up on a property an hour away so it's not easy to babysit them, which is why I got cameras with cellular capability.
When the camera is working it's great. But it occasionally takes photos every minute. Which you are constantly getting notifications and it runs the batteries down. I take it down and lay it facing up like support mentioned but that hardly ever works. Support is also hard to get a hold of and didn't really help anyway. It says you get 1 hundred free photo notifications but if it takes 100 photos of nothing it's really not worth it. I would have returned the camera but I signed up for unlimited photos before I knew there was a problem with it. It is very irritating!
I have done everything correctly on set up. These cameras seem to work when they want to. I have to go out to my cameras on a regular basis to get it to take pictures. It is always saying it needs a valid sd card when the sd cards I have for the cameras are one of the best ones you can buy. These cameras are junk I would not recommend the g36 cameras to anyone. Very disappointed
I brought the camera into the woods after testing it at home and it didn't work after sitting for three weeks. Support said I had to go get the camera, and do the firmware update at home since this one could not be done remotely. The cameras are deep in public lands, I went and got them, did the update and it still didn't work. When going into get my cameras I blew a buck out of his bed.
