Stack-On Quick Access Low Profile Mountable Gun Safe with Electronic Lock

When I purchased this item the only concern I had was about some battery life complaints. I just changed the batteries for the first time and didn't need to, just felt like I should. Purchased the item in "April 2013". FIVE YEARS.....EXCELLENT.

This gun safe has room for gun and ammo. I permanently mounted it under the seat of my truck for storage when I can't carry inside a business. Safe has electronic lock that is resettable. I suggest using machine bolts to mount to steel. Only 4 bolts required. On carpet mount direct.tly.

Just got this safe yesterday to use in my vehicle. It seems to be of decent quality for the price. Had it working and reprogrammed within a couple minutes. Those complaining about this unit being easily broken into etc obviously aren't realizing the price they're paying for this. I would NEVER use this as a permanent safe. If you want a REAL safe that isn't easily broken into you're going to need to fork out hundreds of dollars at a minimum for a safe this size you can feel at ease with your valuables. Let's be realistic here. I'm using this to hide/store my firearm when I go somewhere where a firearm isn't allowed inside. I would NEVER store anything valuable in here permanently. That's what the expensive safes are for.

This serves its purpose well - very quick access with the keypad, can get it open quickly and in the dark if you have to. Price here is great, $45 sure beats $69 at Gander and $60 on Amazon. Only drawback, I had to put duct tape over the battery lid to keep it from opening accidentally when you put your hand in. But considering the price value and purpose of the safe, I can live with that. I bolted the mounting plate to the floor, but you can skip the mounting plate and bolt the safe down directly, it is pre-drilled for this too.

This front opening safe is not quite as secure as the top opening safe from the same company. I think the convenience of the removable mounting plate makes this unit more vulnerable to theft of the entire safe and the door hinging is not as substantial as the top opening version. It is quite easy to operate and provides adequate security.

This is my second Stack-On Product. It offer a good value for the money and should keep people from my things. I really like the ability to remove the safe and take it long with me.

i love the safe but i lost my key and the battery died. now i cant get into it. someone please help
