Very smooth and quiet

nothinggood November 15, 2014

This is a very good product. Being 58 and very out of shape I needed something to ease in to a more active lifestyle. It is very smooth and quiet and I control the intensity of the workout. The foot straps need to be better designed but other than that it feels great.

Perfect

DOROTHEE April 8, 2020

Since we can't go to the gym, we brought the gym home. Easy to assemble, yet takes some time. OK, that's exercise, too. Rowing mode switch to recumbent biking is very simple twist of a knob. There are other exercises like biceps, glutes, leg extensions, etc., that one can do using this exercise machine. We are buying one for our son and his wife, if they wish it.

The best !!!

Sally February 10, 2017

I reviewed many rowers up to $!500. Non of them had this many advantages. Besides having the bike exercise, it has arm, chest, back, and butt exercises. It is approx. 7ft long and some others were 9 plus feet long. I could have put it together myself, but, I let my husband do it. He had no problems. This conversion bike is a sturdy, quality item. I am again satisfied of the product and delivery for large items purchased online from Walmart.

Best of both worlds recumbent and rower

joseph415 December 29, 2023

Easy assembly- only needed help with one section for the base and frame seat sits in. Total assembly took me an hour. No adjustments needed, smooth rowing and easy transition to switch to recumbent. I love how it has slim profile ( I don't have many places to place exercise equipment. )

Overall a Good Piece of Equipment

ZTST December 1, 2010

Overall my husband and I like this rower/recumbent bike. We are 30 yrs. old and have each gained 20 lbs. since the wedding. We have had the equipment for a month and have already begun to slim down because we are dedicated and use it everyday. For someone that is already in tip top shape, I would recommend a professional rower because there are 8 resistance settings on this machine and that might not be enough, but for us it is more than enough. It is a great aerobic workout and keeps us out of the heat and dust. I would definitely recommend this product to normal people that want to maintain their weight or just tone up.

Very pleased

1impatient2shopper May 4, 2011

I'm very pleased with this product. I was able to put it together myself in about 90 minutes - and I can't put anything together. I've used it every day since it arrived, which is more than I worked out in the past year. The rest of the family has joined in. I love how versatile it is - bicycle, rower, arm and leg excercises. I have back and foot problems and this product lets me workout without pain. I agree its probably not for the "already super-fit" but a great alternative for those who are looking to get/stay healthy. My only complaint was the condition of the packaging when it arrived. The box was ripped and the packing materials damaged. Either the packaging is not sufficient for the weight or it was handled badly in transit.

This is fantastic!

DivineMsM March 31, 2009

I wasn't sure what to expect, having not actually seen this in person. But I had read a few things on-line and went ahead and ordered. This is great. It's smooth. It was relatively easy to put together. It's quiet. It's a great workout - and it's got many more possibilities of working out than I had anticipated.

stamina rowing machine

cari1956 May 9, 2010

this is the best workout you can get. Easy in your joints but hard in your muscle. The first week I could only do 1/2 hour I have increased to 45 minutes and I can tell after one week changes in my arms and legs. Totally love it.

We are overall pleased with this product. Assembly went quicker than anticipated. The only thing we feel was of poor quality were the foot straps for the bike pedals. We tore the first one trying to get it attached, and then even knowing this was a problem still had the other one tear in a similar fashion. Not sure why they chose these flimsy straps rather than using the adjustible velcro type used on the stationary rower footrests. We opted to just leave them off as we find we don't really need them when pedaling anyway. We own another Stamina product (a pilates reformer) and have been pleased with the quality with this one exception. The rower has a smooth feel and is fairly quiet. It is a little difficult to see the display while rowing as the rowing strap is above the display which makes it necessary to tip your head to the side to see it directly (only during rowing). The bike is comfortable. The pulse sensors are not very sensitive...I find I have to turn my hands inward so my knuckles are pointing toward my hip in order to see pulse rate on the display. The overall unit feels sturdy and should hopefully last for years to come.

Decent product if it's the right one for you

Greyhawke January 16, 2017

Been using SDC II RC/R 6 days a week for 3 weeks. I think this is a great product for those with a bad back just needing a light cardio workout and some light toning. It's definitely not for those looking to do heavy workouts or those wanting to substantially increase their muscle mass. The resistance settings seem very low to me (I am a 58 year old male in average shape) but at least for now, I still have some room to "grow" with this device (I set the machine on 5 for recumbent bike, 6 for rowing, and 4 for upper body toning exercises. I am 5'6" and have short legs, so I have to have the seat moved forward as far as it will go for the recumbent bike and the seat just barely adjusts into a proper position for me (knees slightly bent and not fully extended at farthest point of pedal travel). So don't assume that just because you read in other reviews that there are users 5'1" or 5'2" that can use this as a recumbent bike, that it will fit you. It really depends on your leg length, not your overall height! It was easy to put together, took about 20 minutes. It arrived in perfect condition, works as advertised, and is as quiet as a church mouse - quite literally silent. The only other thing I dislike about this device is that the rowing "handle/bar" doesn't seem quite wide enough (e.g. when doing standing bicep curls, I only hang on to the handle/bar with my thumb, index, and middle fingers at the outside edges - and yet my hands are still inside my shoulders, not shoulder width apart like they should be for a proper bicep curl. It would be nice to have more room to vary the width of my hand positions when rowing so that I can work the outside of my pec's (chest) better too (same goes for the standing front pull-ups you can do with this machine too. All in all a decent starter machine that is built very solidly, but there are some factors that will make it the wrong device for some. The electronics work great, I find the pulse/HR sensors to be consistently easy to use and accurate (readout has always been within 1 beat per minute of my expensive HR monitoring watch. I seriously doubt that I am burning off as many calories as the machine says I am. With the machine set at 5 for the recumbent bike function, and a speed of 65-70 rpms, the readout says I burn well over 700 calories in a one hour workout. I highly doubt that number is accurate! I'd say the actual amount of calories burned is about half of what is displayed (assuming the user is exercising at a target heartrate appropriate for them). So the calorie counter while consistent, isn't calibrated very well.
